Miss Reissha Nicole Magadia was crowned Miss Teen Philippines 2014 on Saturday night, May 31, 2014 at the PICC Plenary Hall in Pasay City.
Reissha Nicole is a 15-year old model, who stands 5’8″. She is a student of the St. John’s Wort Montessori International School in Antipolo City.
She is up for a prize package worth an estimated value of P2.6 million.
Aside from the title of Miss Teen Philippines 2014, Reissha Nicole Magadia assumes the Department of Education’s Ambassadress position for Education as well as a membership of the Philippine Delegation to the Southeast Asian Youth Program and the National Youth Parliament.
Miss Teen Philippines has since crowned its last winner in 2007, a 7-year hiatus, before this year’s title. Miss Teen Philippines beauty pageant returns with an aim to promote education among teens.
Lawyer Vicente Caoille Jr., co-founder and legal director of Miss Teen Philippines, said that the pageant wants to emphasize this even as they strengthen their claim as the first and original teen beauty pageant in the Philippines.
“I think everyone knows that Philippines have been successful in beauty pageants the past years that is why it’s very timely to bring back the advocacy in education. We still believe that education is the key to achieve their goals in life. That’s what convinced us to bring back the pageant,” he said.
Asked what’s the difference of Miss Teen from other teen-related pageants, Caoille answered, “We are promoting something new, something dynamic and something very integral for the candidates.”
