“So, just to look at this clearly,” he started with a curious tone in his voice, putting his hands up. “You can change into anyone and... you don’t mind?” He had a raised eyebrow. “That’s good to know.”

James Darkholme watched the young woman from afar, one hand glued to his temple. She had to be it, right? His telepathy detected an otherworldly disturbance above Torchwood HQ: there wasn’t anyone else around. Unless his suspect had an invisible friend lurking nearby but he’d like to think that wasn’t the case. Besides, invisibility couldn’t hide the mind.
James’ eyes--a vibrant yellow like his mother’s (though only the irises)--narrowed. He drew in a silent breath and raised his free hand in a non-threatening manner.
“Hey, er...excuse me?” He called out and as he did he realized it might’ve been a good idea to alert the rest of the team...hopefully whomever this was meant no harm. Guess we’ll find out.

She relaxed her head back against the water, her eyes clenching shut as water splashed against her skin. M’gann smiled trying to keep her mouth shut as she wiped the soapy water from her cheek with her good arm. He was so soft and gentle wringing her hair dry. “Well, thank you for divulging yet another talent to me.” M’gann teased him, tilting her head forward some to see his face again. “Also for having my back today. Otherwise a broken arm might have been worse.” She added, now trying to use her good arm to push herself back upwards into a straight sitting position.
Things with Jace had been so simple for her, where as things had been so difficult for him. Everything about him she had just learned to accept. She wouldn’t change his appearance for him, it was more to her than that. Slowly he was understanding how valuable the inside of a person was to her rather than the form they took. How she used Clary’s appearance to force him to start looking for things that were solely M’gann. “So do you think you could help me with one more task before the end of the night?” M’gann asked curiously, widening those doe like eyes as she waited for a towel.
One dripping hand had already reached out for one of the thick, fluffy towels when she pulled her little move and his expression turned from gentle to deadpan.
"I'm not going to do your paperwork for you. I have enough of my own.", he replied without real heat to it, despite the sharp snap of the material as he pulled the towel off the rack, caused by another quick flick of his wrist. "And I also have to explain extraterrestrial monsters to my superiors on top of it."
The fact that eldritch monstrosities from outer space had been added to his plate shortly after meeting M'gann had nothing to do with his complicated feelings for her, but it surely did nothing to make his life easier.
"You still owe me an explanation what those were."
Despite his tone, his hands were still as careful as they had been the entire time he had been tending to her hair while wrapping the towel around her head, tucking the corner in and piling it into a turban on her crown.

“What do you want me to do, M’gann?! You saw what they did! They’re bad guys!”

Dick sat there listening for as long as she talked, sitting just close enough that if she needed to reach out he’d be right there. “Forgiving is hard, especially when it’s yourself. I could sit here and pry for details so I could tell you whatever it is wasn’t your fault or that you deserve forgiveness. But I don’t think that’s going to help you much. But, something I do know for a fact, it’s easier to get to sleep after a nightmare if you have a distraction. Wanna put a movie on, grab some popcorn? Maybe you’ll fall asleep in the middle of it.”

“Hey-- you were with those guys that helped me and my team earlier today, right? thanks for the help! People here call me Patriot, but you can call me Sam”

Barry walked out of the coffee shop near the donut shop Kara took him too last year when he got stuck in National City. This time he took the time to look around see how things were different than his Earth and how things were the same. But of course he wasn’t paying attention and bumped into someone. “I’m so sorry.”

It was true M'gann had been drinking far more than she should. It was also true that she was buzzed more than she had been in a long time. But something about the man, she could feel his mind in the drunken haze. He was sweet and honest, something rare in these parts. So when she kissed him, she was all in, and his reaction indicates the same. Then almost as fast as the kiss started he had pulled away.“Wow is right.” She agreed a wide smile and pink cheeks appearing. “But why are we not still wowing?” She asked almost pouting before taking another shot.“I am not drunk, I’m enjoying myself and your lips.” She hummed leaning closer to him at the bar. M'gann gave a coy smile, her finger tracing his knuckles. “I’ve never actually got to do something like this.” She mentioned in a soft whisper as if some big secret.
If Barry could see the way M'gann saw him, he'd probably blush and stand the tallest he'd ever stood in his life. Those were the things he wanted to be, and the things that he wanted people to like him for, especially people who were going to be kissing him. She felt the same, even if he didn't have any special powers to help him judge character. And she was funny; Barry laughed at her question and took a step closer when he felt her fingers on his knuckles. They sent a shiver down his spine that could only be rivaled by the feeling of the speedforce rushing through him.
"You are absolutely beautiful," he replied, completely off topic, but he just felt the need to say it. He didn't just mean on the outside either, beauty was more than skin deep for someone like Barry. Wanting to keep those fingers on his hand, he brought his free hand up and brushed his fingertips along the curve of her jawline, a soft smile on his face. "If you're certain that you've got a level head and this is something that you want to do... I could be convinced." As if to punctuate his point, he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek, letting his lips linger before backing up a few inches so he could look her in the eyes. "I've never done anything like this before either. I think my record for shortest time in between meeting someone and kissing them is........ my entire life, basically." He was joking about how he'd been in love with Iris, his first crush, for almost two decades before approaching her about it. "I definitely didn't mind it though. I’d like to do it again."
