I intentionally mistag x reader fanfic. I was a pitiful, lonely little gay boy in high school, and i was mad that every reader insert fic i clicked on was untagged f/m. So now i write really explicitly m/m fics and tag them shit like 'chubby!fem!reader' or whatever. If youve found some of my work im not sorry

I’m actually so tired of people mistagging posts ESPECIALLY in fan fiction spaces. It clogs everything up and makes it way harder to find fics! As a writer myself (not on this blog) it’s annoying that my writing is buried under a bunch of unrelated stuff.

When I’m scrolling the Gerard Way x reader tag it should only be related to that! Authors talking about their fics and answering asks is more relevant than whatever unspecific fandom shit you tagged with a million other different ship names also tagged.

This has been annoying me for a while and I needed to rant.

Ao3 is becoming bad for x reader fans

i have found many many good x reader fics on ao3, however, lately, there is a HUGE upsurge in mistagging, people are tagging their OC X CHARACTER fics as a READER fic. its been really hard lately to actually find reader fics. also people giving their readers a "set appearance". even if not named, that's not a reader, i don't want to seem rude or ungrateful, but the reader character is not supposed to have a set appearance....for example "her brown hair and green eyes". the reader is supposed to be Blank, because the reader.....as the name suggests, is the person reading the book, if the character is given an already pre existing appearance, that's not a reader story im sorry, its an oc.

i'm not used to get annoyed by mistagging. until, i seached for fluff fanfics and got tons of smut.

ik ya'll want more attention on your posts, but if someone is looking for x, and your post is about z, the person won't read it anyways

We should shame people for tag spamming, actually. Just straight-up make fun of them for it.

Please stop treating Tumblr like it's Instagram/Tiktok, stop using every tag you can think up that doesn't relate to the post. Stop using character and ship tags that aren't even mentioned in the slightest in the post or art. I know you want your posts to reach people but it's extremely inconsiderate and not how tumblr works.

Wow... Yumeship is S/I x F/O—it's personal. I support tagging characters, but some yumeshipper doesn't even tag as yume, making it impossible to filter, Horrible.
