I disagree that Carrie had no control over her powers. At the start of the movie, she didn’t. But over the course of the film, she comes to accept herself and her powers. It’s when shes covered in pigs blood, she absolutely breaks and regresses back.

That’s why when she kills everyone in the gym, it sure feels personal.

hey, how do you go about getting so many viewers and followers on your pagan blogs (both here and outside of tumblr)? :)

I know TTR answered this already, but I figured I would give it a shot.

I don’t really care. I post whatever I feel like posting about whatever gets into my head. Sometimes it’s related to my religious stuff and sometimes it’s not. If people want to read it, then they read it. If people don’t want to read it, then they won’t.

I like knowing that my posts connect to other people on a level, but it doesn’t feed me or drive me to put out content. The content is there for myself, to watch myself grow and change. It honestly has nothing to do with whomever may be out there as a faceless entity reading what I throw out.

Yes. Babalon is scary to work with. Babalon makes you face all of your passions, desires, fears, insecurities. She is lust, the great whore, and the lover of all. You may be drawn to worship her or drawn to have her manifest through you, but either way... Yes, she is scary. You cannot approach Babalon from a position of safety.

Hey, I really like your blog! Very informative. I have a question: Is it true that when you're faced with an evil entity, all you have to say is "go away" whilst having complete confidence that the entity can't harm you? Is it really that simple? It's what a lot of people seem to say..

it works for some people, not for everyone.

here's the thing. there's a lot of power in believing in yourself, and not everyone has that. it's easy for some people to face things that are pretty dangerous with just "kbye" because some of those people have declared such a dominance on themselves and their own spaces.

but if that doesn't work for you, there's no shame in using your resources. I still use the license to depart when I summon a demon just because I feel like it honors the whole act a lot more than just "we're done here, laters".

Hey! Do you know of any other good resources for scottish witchcraft? I'm of Scottish roots and I'm trying to apply my roots into my magic :D (if you post this publicly please tag me!)

I’m having a lot of trouble finding sources involving Scottish witchcraft, i only follow a couple of people (that i know of) on tumblr. I had a few books when i was younger based around the history of Scottish witchcraft, mainly the Great Scottish Witch Trials. I’ve gotten the impression that unless you look into the Celtic craft, there’s not much material on witchcraft of any branch from Scotland on the Internet.

I found this website, a green witch based in Aberdour, whose shop I hope to visit one day, but their website is currently under maintenance.

The only tumblr user I can bring to mind right now is hagothehills, if i can think of any others I’ll let you know :D

Basic Execration

Inspired by the latest execranuary trend here on tumblr, and because I wanted something a little better than what I actually did, which was pretty thrown together last minute. Disclaimer: I'm using the Grimoire's Runic and Ogham tables as a source of magical shorthand, because I find that useful and despite what I know it's hard to part with the system.

The spell:

Write on a piece of paper everything you want to cast out and fold it in half, only once. While chanting, write on the surface the following symbols:

(Tinne: vertical line with three left-facing horizontal offshoots) "To restore balance

(Eohl: An inverted peace sign hold the circle) To defend against chaos

(Thorn: Vertical line with a horizontal right-facing triangle) It is neutralized, it is done

(Iodho: vertical with five horizontal lines) It is done!"

Tear the paper apart at the end of the chant and dispose of it.
