thoughts
Mr.Children’s latest album Reflection is SO SO SO GOOD. The album beats their last 2 albums Sense and [(an imitation) blood orange] a hundred times over, and I think it might be even better than Supermarket Fantasy.
Some of the songs had me almost in tears because I felt like I was listening to Mr.Children at their best.
These guys just ignited my love for them again.

Today's Japanese band is the legendary pop rock group, Mr. Children. The highly influential group formed in 1988 under the name of The Walls, and were a group highly influenced by the political group, Echoes. However, when they noticed their political stances weren't selling, they decided to switch things up, and changed their name to Mr. Children in 1989 (as referenced in the famous and inspiring "Kurumi" PV). After three years of non stop promotion, the group went under a hiatus in 1991, before reforming, and getting the attention of the Toy's Factory label. They were signed, and released their debut, "Everything", a year later. The rest is history, and the group went on to become one of Japan's most influential rock groups in history, selling over 50 million records, and are the second best selling Japanese group, right behind B'z. The band is known for their progressive pop rock sound, and the unique and emotional vocals of frontman, Kazutoshi Sakurai (who happens to be my profile pic on this blog, FYI). Kazutoshi's lyrics are also critically acclaimed, as they are written on a complex level, and are often analyzed by both critics and students all over Japan. Here is their PV for the groundbreaking single, "Tomorrow Never Knows", released back in 1994. Enjoy!
