MIS week Day 5 - Legacy / Successors / Family
But also this is inspired by/kinda fanart for @somereaderinblue 's modern AU fic Koi no Yokan, because I adore it's little epilogue with cute family fluff! <3<3
Nori yong is the daughter of Chase Young and the First Ninja.
From the moment she was born, Noryang was an ordinary human with no natural magic or special powers. Because of that, she learned from childhood to rely only on hard work, training, and discipline. She grew up believing that she had to become strong by herself, not because of her origins.

Credit for this goes to a comment @drawnfamiliarfaces left on my Hemlock fic. d_f_f I hope you're proud.
We all know the story, it's one of the most iconic love stories in Greek mythology. It's also a story about parental love & the grief that comes with it. So here's my take on it for MIS:
First is a god fascinated with humans, especially their resilience. This is best shown in the farmers who harvest his boons, the single mothers maintaining a strict household with a baby on their back, the eldest siblings who step up, the street urchins who spare what little they have for those younger than them, etc. Like his plants, they come in a variety that's equally precious.
Naturally, Randy's a regular at his temple. He leaves fruit that's a little bruised from when he dropped them in his haste, growing limbs gangly & uncoordinated; places wildflowers in earthenware he made, covered in fingerprints, bright paints & full of leaks; and aside from prayers, he leaves stories. About his life, his friends, his frustrations & joys, he talks to the statue as if it were a medium to a neighbour rather than a god.
First is once again fascinated, and that curiosity blooms into love. He hopes Randy's parents know how blessed they are to have this boy.
Then one day, the village is attacked (maybe by the Sorcerer who wants to steal the Tengu Stone hidden in said temple?). Randy claws and bites and screams and kicks. Smashing his vase onto an attacker's head, he grabs the relic & flees into the tall fields First blessed. He successfully hides the stone, saving his entire village, but wheat is no shield against spears & arrows.
First wails in agony, splitting the earth as his crops are watered by a 14 year old's blood.
Humans are resilient, but that isn't a burden that children should ever carry. Children shouldn't have to die so young yet, Randy was murdered.
Bundling Randy in the red scarf he had woven ("Look, we match!"), First ventures into the Underworld for an audience with Chase Young.
Enemies to... (Day 1)
...and a year later they tell each other about their travers.
What I draw when I say I'm not an artist:
In general, I was suddenly struck by inspiration and I really like the result ✌️
