Mitchell and Michelle Myers {Birthday Drabble}

They sat quietly in the living room of their house. They were both reading a book, trying to be as invisible as they could. Their father was out, and hopefully he'd be out a while longer. Mitchell glanced over one way, while his sister, Michelle, looked the other way.

"Is it clear?" Mitchell asked.

Michelle nodded. "Yeah. How about your side?"

"We're good." He bookmarked the page he was on and set his book down. Then he stood. Michelle did the same. They both walked down the hall towards their rooms. They disappeared and reemerged, each holding and present.  He laughed quietly and handed the presents to each other.

"Happy birthday." they said in unison.

They laughed again and took the present the other washolding.

"Thank you, Mitchell."

"Your welcome. And thanks." he said nodding to the present in his hands.

"Of course." she said with a small smile. Mitchell smiled back.

Then the twins pulled each other into a hug. They held each other for a few moments, before they front door creaked open. They jumped and stood straight. They gave each other a frightful look. Then they quietly rushed into their rooms, hid the gifts and managed to get back into the living room, with out their father noticing. They grabbed their books and started reading again, just as he walked into the living room. He looked them both over before walking away. The twins let out a quiet sigh of relief. Then they shared a small smile.
