Each recent eclipse held the promise of another traveling companion joining the city. Why the Stars were targeting Aselia right now was beyond her understanding and quite a worrisome prospect. If time did not pass in their world perhaps there was little to worry about. It was late at night when she had checked her phone for new contacts, and she had half-dreamed she saw his name there. She avoided checking since to gather her thoughts.

What would she say to him if they met?

Would he be hostile towards her for opposing him? Or would the pain of knowing who he was and what he’d done flood back to her?

Raine walked the streets that day in order to make some sense of it all. She exited her apartment building and headed towards Pearl Street, desperately hoping that some routine would help calm her nerves. There had been a point in time that Raine saw the future in that boy. She vowed to protect him, knowing what it was like to be alone in a world so cruel. That entire notion vanished so quickly and completely at his betrayal. Her thoughts were swiftly interrupted when she felt arms wrap around her stomach, destabilizing her stride. Out of a neighboring apartment complex a young-looking blonde-haired boy had ran towards her, locking her in an embrace.

“M-Mithos...It’s true. It’s really you. H-how?”

“Mi..thos..”

The name leaves him in an almost broken whisper, escaping his lips of its own accord. Lloyd could no longer move, no longer hear what was around him; the wind rustling through the blossoms on the trees, the birds chirping overhead. All was replaced with a dull ringing in his ears. The scenery tells them that this was a place of serenity, of peace-- and yet all that Lloyd could feel was.. dread.

.. dread. Was it that? No, it was something more-- confusion, concern.. but through it all, the familiar sting of guilt was most prominent through his body. Piercing his chest, of the memory when he had last seen this boy.. on the day that he had taken his life.

He felt his hands shaking at his sides, but Lloyd forced them into fists in an attempt to steady himself. Despite his best efforts, however.. he knew it wouldn’t work for very long.

“Is it.. is it really you? But I-- I don’t understand.. how are you here? How could you be, after I..” the words fall silent on his tongue, unable to bring himself to finish the thought. If this was a dream.. it was a cruel one to make him see, but if it wasn’t.. then how could Mithos be alive?

“Hey!! Back off!”

Finding herself in the forest was, not entirely was Susie had planned-- but plans weren’t really her style, anyway. She was going to make the most of her unexpected visit here, though figured she’d be left alone while doing so. To her surprise, yet another human looking kid was around, standing right in the patch of moss she was about to go eat. Talk about rude.

“Get your damn feet off my snack! I was here first, so I’m not sharing!”

“I’ve never seen an instrument like that before. What is it called? You’re really good!” 

“They kinda look like flutes, don’t they?”

As the ‘Lord of Monsters’, it was to be expected that Ratatosk would find out about other monsters or inhuman beings and make a connection with them. Though in a way he wasn’t expecting it to be that fast when he went into the foggy lakes of Cotes. The Kappas were immediately friendly, while others gave a look and continued swimming through the deep depths of the water. 

Despite the low visibility, he felt like this was the place he was going to be spending a lot of time in. For now he got the idea to go down to the Castle of the Koi that all the noise has been talking about and actively explore the area.

On his way over to the edge where the Kappa were, red eyes locked onto another blond waiting over to the side. That couldn’t be-

“Mithos?”

He waits at least twenty minutes before agitation begins to seep into his limited patience, and hardly ten more minutes thereafter when he finally decides to address the young boy also caught waiting for a bus that simply isn’t coming. Had he his legs, walking would’ve been an easy feat--but with the rain clouds rolling in and the strain already placed on wooden replacements that throb and ache where they meet his flesh, it’s not an option he wants to take.

“You,” he calls, “How much longer until this thing comes?”
