12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

i feel like this is a copout answer but i genuinely wanna say worf. is worf unpopular? well for being in every season of tng he's the least tagged main character in the ao3 tag, and for the ds9 tag he doesnt even appear in the top 10 characters. and the percentage of those that are actually about worf not just mentioning him? cant be arsed to run the numbers but its Low. plus, the worf tag on tumblr is always way too full of joke posts and barren of serious character meta. worf is a character who most fans acknowledge only 1) to take the piss 2) because theyre writing about/drawing the full cast and that technically includes him 3) to actively complain about him or 4) because they've only just noticed that he's got stuff going on and are starting to point it out. my stance is this: worf is a fascinating character with some insanely good storylines and even if he's not your favourite you should give him more consideration than he currently receives! he's fun to think about! if you think of worf as the 'token straight' of the ds9 cast ask yourself where you got that impression! if you think of him as a dumb jock ask yourself why you are completely wrong! just think about him for longer than the few seconds it takes to form a dismissive opinion of one of the most interesting characters in star trek!

21. part of canon you think is overhyped

this is a good question! i think in general i love when people lock on to a certain aspect of canon and build on it, its one of my favourite things about trek fandom that almost nothing is too insignificant to catch somebodys interest so imo the only way something can be "overhyped" is when its inescapable, and for that i have two mean answers. first: i dont care that much about cardassia. when i watched chain of command part 2 and found out about the geopolitical history of cardassia and how they came to be the invasive force they are in canon, i thought it was fascinating and a really good way to give dimension and depth to the species BUT i did not feel the need to go further and i find fandom's love for cardassia and cardassians to be pretty fuckin annoying when you're looking for other ds9 content specifically. if im posting about klingons and klingons only im probably not looking for a lengthy reply about how garak or dukat fit into this (sorry).

the second answer is less important bc after the s1 finale i kind of dont care about academy anymore but i was starting to get borderline murderous trying to find content about jay-den that didnt include his boring white boyfriend. i dont caaaaare about fucking kyle he's the least interesting character on the show and i swear to god he only exists as a means to confirm jay-den as gay he has like five lines and theyre all bland and uninteresting How have people spun this much about him!!!!! jay-den "weird human name" kraag was the coolest klingon character we've been given in years, he has so much going on and yet people will ignore all the depth and complexity of jay-den himself just to talk about background human #3 Kyle. the golden retriever boyfriend needs to be put down im taking him to the farm i cant believe the audacity of some people to ignore jay-den for him

So you see, there's this book called the Silmarillion........ No but yeah I don't think I could name anything else here, this has been having me in a chokehold for the better part of the year so, yk <3

21. What’s something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?

I actually just bought myself entirely new bedding after way too long and it's been absolutely amazing (comfy!!) and absolutely terrible (the pain of getting out of bed.....)

10. This is the first of the war fandom shows to be streaming service specific (I believe) on AppleTV. Did you watch each week? Did you wait until it all aired and watched at once? Did you share with a friend?

I watched each week, due to timezones and my job schedule so I had to wait until friday night or saturday to peacefully watch the episodes and it was such a nice part of my week??? I'm glad I could experience it on my own and as part of a fandom 🤧
