dude never got a happy start in his life and never got the help he needed
like when he needed his two best friends at the worst time of his life they weren't there for him instead they were fighting each other while he had to hold SOLDIERA together with zack who was still young and clean up their mess
I’ve said it plenty of times but it bears repeating: just about everyone got boned in some way in FF7, and Sephiroth is sitting right at the top of that list.
Memes and shitposts aside, he’s an absolutely tragic villain with a lot of depth, and I hate it when people seriously write him/write him off as this one-note evil/dark character.
what do you think of the situation regarding zhongli ?
@mitsukitimes Truthfully I'm kinda scared someone asked this, but I need to set things straight since my reblogs about Zhongli's kit contradicted each other.
- 1.1 Zhongli, to me, is not underperformed but he has inconsistent kits.
- Ironically his inconsistency kit kind of ties in with his lore.
- However, whiny players who were too lazy to build Zhongli only demanded him to be a DPS did exist. Some didn't even have him only shaming those who had him and blaming us for wanting him just for his aesthetic. In this part, Mihoyo was right.
- 1.1 Zhongli is not useless. People do sleep on the fact that he's the only Geo character that can destroy Geo shields. Fighting the Geo Hypothesis has been under 2-3 mins ever since I had him.
- I had expected Zhongli to be a support type, long when he's rumored to be the next Archon god because this is the same expectation I set from Venti.
- Player’s comparison 1.1 Zhongli's power comparison with Ningguang and Noelle is inaccurate but his comparison with Venti is justified.
- Zhongli (based on the ad production-wise and his illustration on China expo) is Mihoyo's magnum opus. So it's no wonder people had high expectations of him.
- From a business point of view Mihoyo made some faulty decisions. Mihoyo ignored their beta tester's advice. The decision to nerf Zhongli is too abrupt and not evaluated enough. The nerf changes happened too quickly when the ads had been finalized, a miscommunication between Mihoyo's employees.
- Basically, there's an internal conflict between Mihoyo's developers and the executive. New employees had made Zhongli's design too good-looking. His ad and animations are stellar that the old employees are worried that people will only spend money on him and not needing other characters.
- It is rumored that the guy who suggested nerfing Zhongli is forced to resign.
- Mihoyo didn't lie about Zhongli's video ad, but I can understand if it's misleading a lot of people. They fail to show his demo featured other characters to show his potential as a support character (like Venti's and Albedo's demo).
- "Well, it's people's fault for being deceived". Look, as someone who works in advertisements, our job is supposed to send the message as clear as possible. Failed ads can lead to serious trouble.
- I don't believe the whole of Zhongli's controversy is only caused by Mihoyo's jealous competitors (though I'm not denying some sabotaging can happen).
- Their first response to Zhongli's issue is terrible...absolutely dreadful. In summary, it sounds like: "We know the issue about Zhongli, but we are not going to do anything and he is working as intended, you guys don't know how to build him.". It's like they are challenging their player by releasing such an announcement.
- Without saving primogems, Zhongli costs around 365$. Based on Mihoyo's response summary Zhongli might be useful in the future, but to do that, you must get our new 5* character, which might need a high constellation to work properly as well, compared this character to a wheelchair, Zhongli is the chair and the wheels are soon to be released. Each sold separately.
- In that 'apology' Mihoyo only mentions those who are expecting Zhongli to be the next DPS not mentioning those who made a detailed spreadsheet of why he's not performed as expected as a 5-star character.
- Not all who protest Zhongli's stats are haters, mind you. Some players are so attached to this character and wanted to use him a lot. They are also worried about Mihoyo's treatment toward upcoming 5-star characters such as Ganyu and Xiao.
- But I can also sense that Mihoyo is not ready for such mega change and success in three months. Mismanagement happens, but I believe they're trying their best. Their response to bug issues is pretty decent and efficient.
- I don't think Mihoyo finally gave up because they're scared of players like us, but the CN server? Good lord, have mercy.
-I mean... People really (really, really) loved this character. Among my experience in playing RPG gacha game, this was the first time I've witnessed a few nations gathered together and demanded a multi-million game industry to buff a fictional Chinese senior citizen.
- I'm super glad they didn't just outright make Zhongli strong, but testing him first and then decide what to adjust. Some people said it's not game-changing. But...that's the point, he just needs small adjustments.
- Despite all of this I am personally pleased with the previous Zhongli. If Mihoyo won't buff him. I don't mind.
- Account security is a bigger issue.
TLDR:
1.1 Zhongli is fine as he is but lacks as a five-star character. Mihoyo didn't deserve anyone's sympathy for making so many bad decisions in the past. But now, I thank them for finally listening.
PS: I will reply with sources because Tumblr's treatment of a linked post can be messy and sorry for my messy grammar.
Note: All about Mihoyo's internal issue is just rumors based on Reddit. Nothing is confirmed.
hi i saw that you make icons from your previous blog and was hoping to ask for some kurasame susaya icons since hr is under appreciated character and theres no icons of him please and thank you

They do.
Honestly if you just kill that walking human ethics violation early like 85% of the shitshow that is FF7’s universe just kind of goes away. Maybe more, with a little bit of time and therapy.
