Watched Princess Mononoke
A number of aspects about the relationship between human and animal that are simply too similar to the D&D campaign I'm running for me to get into them here.
Can't stop thinking about Ashitaka's arm, his disability. He is hurt. Perhaps it would be better if he had not been. But that pain, that anger, that hate, contributes to his condition of humanity. It does not make him more or less human, but otherwise human. And he has a tool, a terrifying, too powerful tool, in his hatred, that when tempered can be wielded to bring about the end of that which it is like. He will die. You will die. I will die. What shall we do until then?
The infection will spread throughout your whole body, bone and flesh alike. It will cause you great pain and then kill you. You cannot alter your fate, my prince. However, you can rise to meet it, if you choose.
