I searched goblin shark to see if they looked different than I remembered and they don't. Am I getting untrustworthy results trying to find regular alive shark or do people draw them more fucked up than I can imagine?

both of these are super duper dead!

Alive goblin sharks are white in colour and don't have their jaws popped out, which is something they CAN do but not something they do all the time. Here are some examples of live ones! They do still look freaky, but they don't look like an explosively decompressed corpse:

Really genuinely legitimately sick of seeing goblin sharks depicted as living exploded corpses. They're such elegant creatures and everyone's drawing them as bloated blood-filled monstrosities, how are we not past this already, how long does it have to continue until people figure out they're drawing decompressed zombies all the time

Arche 0835 — Mitsukurina. Mardi 4 juillet 2017, Romain Ternaux. _________________________________________ Né le 28 avril 1987, Romain Ternaux est un romancier français. Inspiré par les grands écrivains américains du siècle dernier (Kerouac, Bukowski…), il rédige un mémoire sur John Fante (dont il rencontre le fils, Dan Fante) et sort diplômé de Lettres Modernes à la FAC de Reims. Addict à l'écriture, il rédige « au moins une page chaque jour » (au début, sans contacter d'éditeurs) et – d'années en années – se retrouve ainsi l'auteur d'une dizaine de romans. Admirateur de Céline, son premier roman publié (et le premier qu'il ait écrit), « Croisade apocalyptique » (chez Dub éditions) conte – à un rythme effréné – le « Voyage » d'un révolutionnaire borné, raté et alcoolique. Sa quête de provoquer le Grand Soir l’entraîne (l'alcool aidant) en Inde, à Los Angeles, puis à Paris (viré de sa chambre d'adolescent, il enchaîne les péripéties burlesques – pour ne pas dire délirantes – à cent à l'heure, survit à une fusillade, devient millionnaire puis clochard, gérant d'une chaîne de fast-food, terroriste recherché…). Adepte de la « Prose spontanée », Romain étudie ses romans pour qu'ils puissent être lus d'une seule traite. Il enchaîne avec son deuxième roman : « L'histoire du loser devenu gourou », sorti le 29 octobre 2015 chez l'éditeur « Aux forges de Vulcain ». I find goblin sharks to be incredibly otherworldly and elegant creatures and it bothers me that 99.9% of goblin sharks I see in art are based on drawings from dead animals and poorly-reconstructed replicas with wrinkled pink skin and permanently distended zombie jaws.
