I never got to meet her but I read books about her and I had the honor of performing many times in the House she built. All my comedy heroes talked about her. She was a visionary and a true legend from a golden era. Rest In Peace #MitziShore condolences to @paulysong and the Shore Family. Twelve things that you are grateful for, today... Go! 1. While having time stuck in traffic this morning I got to talk to a dear friend Patrick Weston, 2. Who through his life reminded me that we are all capable of rising from the ashes and living a purposeful existence. 3 He offered me a place for me and Lizzie to stay if I am ever in the #Chicago area. 4. My wait time at the VA was relatively light for my appointment, and while I was waiting I talked with 5. Clyde Bates who I have seen there every week for at least a year, but we've never had the chance to have a real conversation. He is a photographer, and we exchanged info so we can talk about collaborating for behind the scenes photos on my next project. 5. Through a few conversations with Gilbert Stone who reminded me that we are all connected and our bond as fellow Corpsman is still strong, and 6. Sandy Stotzer for giving me the blessed gift of his friendship, I found myself smiling almost uncontrollably throughout most of the evening, and when I found out that the legendary 7. #MitziShore passed away, I couldn't help but remember how many grate memories I have of doing 8. Stand up at The World Famous Comedy Store. 9. I get to remember how blessed I am to be alive, 10. that I am in a constant state of exploring the reason I am still on this earth, 11. That I have legs to walk today for 6 miles while contemplating these facts, and that 12. I can lay my head to rest with everything being right in the universe, today.
