Is there anyone out there that still rips or broom CDs ?

I have not had a computer with a functioning CD burner in about a decade. I started looking at the cost of CDs on Amazon and some of it is absolutely ridiculous especially when most people don't buy CDs anymore.

However I really like to listen to CDs in my car ---the only place I have a CD player.

So if any Pirates out there want to make a little booty by burning a few CDs for me please let me know.

Over the weekend I found a bunch of mix CDs from middle and high school that I made and that friends made for me and I honestly don’t think there is a better type of time capsule.

I still knew all the words to the songs and I got surprised by like 4 Glee covers that I about died laughing. My car couldn’t read the metadata on the discs so each song was a surprise. I can’t wait to listen to more. I miss this era

I miss mixtapes and mixed CDs. There are some very specific songs that I hear and I can see the cover of the mix CD that my friend made for me 15 years ago, or I think about when they gave it to me, or I think about singing along in the car on a road trip.

I’ve been stuck inside so I made a multimedia art project!

I’ve been making mix CDs on and off for a few years, can’t always depend on your phone for music, and decided I’d do one for one of the little podcasts keeping me company.

All of these songs remind me of The Magnus Archives in some way or another, and the art is largely based around how beaten up the poor Archivist gets.

#TMA #the magnus archives #mix CDs #my draws #i used to make mix CDs a lot more #but no one I made them for cared about them #I hand painted/drew the covers myself #I typically spend hours trying to arrange the music just right and make it fit onto the CD #and then #I’d find one of my favorite ones on the floor of my exes room. the cover cracked #the art was something I was incredibly proud of #I wish I had kept it #i have some in my car still #but my favorite ones were ones I gave to people hoping they’d love them and love me because of them #only one person ever said anything about my mixes #I gave my friend one because the person I made it for had bailed on our last three dates #she asked me about one of my favorite songs on it #and I think that’s when I realized I should have been in love with her along #I miss her very much now #and I hope she still listens to it #I know none of the other ones are still in use #my car has been very weird about CDs lately #but I like to think if I made this and handed it to Martin Blackwood he’d listen #he’d tell me which song was his favorite #and it made me feel good enough to make this #Spotify
