#mixed gelfling

In this sketch “Smipp” is going to the stand in for “Baka” I went on the Dark Crystal site to see if they had any other Gelfling insults, and Smipp was the one I liked a bit more (maybe I’ll find another because sometimes my eyes see “simp”, I need glasses lol)

Inbetween commission sketch of blushing Fleur and Cha’l. They become blushing wrecks when they are around their special someone (Both characters belong to @myfanartblogplusshippingtrash some of you may know who they are but I will say their names when I make a good drawing for them lol)

Kiel is that friend who will destroy a sentimental moment. I don’t picture Kiel being there when love confessions arise but I wanted to play around with his teasing nature and if he happened to be around.

I added this to my IG but here are my Dark Crystal OC’s! They are so much fun to draw and destress with, I might do another IG ask and share some of the drawings again.

From left to right;

Fleur (Stonewood x Dousan but she inherited a lot of her father’s features): Adventurer, Bounty Hunter, and Sass for days.

Viara: the sweet bean and the levelheaded one of her friends.

Cha’l ( Stonewood x Dousan, Fleur’s older brother): He travels with the Sifan and loves causing mayhem with his best friend Kiel.

Kiel ( Sifa x Vapra): He goes by many names; Prankster, Sly-Guy, and Sifan Deviant.

I still need to work on their stories but I love them and I wanted to share them with you all.

Here is a little comparison of how Fleur has changed slightly as far as face and eye shape.

I was playing around with my new brushes and I adore them! They’re going to be my go-to for lineless art. I have two styles when it comes to drawing Gelfling; my more anime/manga style one that I get super detailed with and my lineless style that has some of the same energy as my sketchy “Instagram stories.”

These are about 5 months apart and it’s so interesting seeing how my art is both improving as well as kinda evolving

When I am able, I plan on doing Viara, Cha’l, Kiel and Azra in this style. When I finish Fleur, you’ll see what I mean lol.

I got some new brushes and I wanted to try them out. I want to practice more with this style of coloring and do a complete drawing.

I also wanted an excuse to draw the tattoos they have that are hidden under their clothes as well as the skin colorations. I like what I have so far but I might change it up (differing skin coloration wise)

This is most likely a Modern Au because maybe sunglasses don’t exist in Thra lol.

Fun facts:

Cha’l is an excellent swimmer and can hold his breath for a fairly long amount of time.

Fleur is not a good swimmer and prefers to stay in the shallow water if she goes to the beach or by a wide river.

Here is the last wave of Gelfling who will be in the big Gelfling Oc drawing. 14 Gelfling in total! I got Gelfling from just about every clan except for one lol It’s been really fun drawing these characters and I really want to do them justice because each design is so unique and beautiful and I want to really “wow” you all. Wish me luck for when I am able to draw this up lol

Fun fact about Fleur’s forehead tattoos, they’re suppose to be an homage to Sailor Moon. Her bangs cover it but they almost form the shape of the Sailor Scout tiara.

13 Gelfling OC’s!!! I cannot wait to get started on it!

I’m still in the middle of a commission piece so as I mentioned before, I’m going to be sketching these characters so my hand gets use to their shapes. I want to get these characters right so expect some more sketches and when the time comes, sneak peek sketches!

There aren’t enough words to describe how happy I am with all the feedback for this and I can’t wait to draw up the last sketch of the remaining characters (the next one I’m ecstatic for because I LOVE the design!)

I finally did it! I finally made gelfsona! I'm mixed so it only made sense for my gelfling to be mixed lol.

I chose Dousan and StoneWood. My dad is very spiritual, does tattoos and meditates so he fits the Dousan clan well. My mom loves nature, forests and woods; if she could she would live by the mountains or in a cabin so she fits StoneWood (StoneWood is her favorite clan so...lol)

Fun fact: I styled my hair as best I could to emulate a gelfling style. My mom will help me make it look better so I can do that Toon me challenge on IG
