Yesterday I bought this painting from the artist Carlos Jimenez. Then I showed it to my mom and she said "Oh, it's you." I'd thought it was Frida. Maybe a combination of the two. 1967 marked the year Richard and Mildred Loving successfully defeated Virginia's ban on interracial marriage via a famed Supreme Court ruling that had nationwide implications... Their story is also the subject of the 2016 film, Loving... Artist Edyta Pachowicz created this diptych, honoring Mildred and Richard Loving for our friends at this year's @MixedRemixed Festival being held for Free today at @TheLATC today from 10-6pm...
