[ This deal that Mr. Ant Tenna took in desperation to stay relevant seemed to backfire entirely. Behind the television show set was a land of brittle frost, the light winds carrying snowflakes off the white mounds occasionally intensified. A sleeping furry beauty was contained in a gigantic gatchapon ball that sat atop a pine holiday tree, oblivious to the fighting before her. He had just been defeated by the Delta Warriors, and shrank down in response to his loss–reflecting well his feelings on this. ] “N…no! No no…” [ He…he couldn’t believe this… He needed to win! He needed to! Nothing he did to keep eyes on him worked! Not premiering new exciting shows, not airing classic rerun marathons, nothing!! He didn’t understand, for the life of him, what needed to be fixed! Was it…
Was it him? Was he…the issue? ]
“I-I only…” [ the showman lowered his head further, his screen all black to hide the expresion on his face. ] “…wanted to be enjoyed. I only wanted to be looked up to…even if it was for one last time…” [ His core sank further into his chest, burdened with so many sorrowful obsessions. Afraid of not being adored. Afraid of not being appreciated. Afraid of not being cared for. Countless fears invaded his paranoid mind, twisting his self-worth and self-value and corrupting them. ] “Admittedly…I’ve been showing older shows in hopes of nostalgia grabbing your eyes but…” [ He felt like his core would fall out of his chest with how heavy it was. ] “I don’t have anything appealing to viewers left. Everything’s changing too f-fast…and no one wants me anymore. No one needs me anymore…” [ his breath hitched, trembling from so many emotions on the inside. ] “I’m…g-going to be thrown away, discarded like g-garbage…!”
…until a couple of strong teenagers planted a seed of hope in his heart.
'Someone’s gotta want you out there.' That line alone…did something to his head and core internally. ]
“Kris, you’ll help me find someone around town, right?”
[ The dark-haired Delta Warrior nodded in response, adjusting the Dealmaker glasses they had a suspicion that it would be vital in battle. ]
“You…you’d help me…?” [ Maybe…maybe he didn’t need to do this stuff–of guarding the Dark Fountain from being sealed. Maybe he didn’t need to continue trapping the last person who gave him a chance. ] “Susie, I…” [ Hearing this, his heart soared and he quickly grew in size, a flower popping out from the tip of his nose. ] “You’re amazing!” [ he cheered out so happily. ] “You’re fantastic! You’re wonderful, oh wonderful!! I’m so ecstatic about all of this!” [ He was elated beyond belief! Finally, someone to give him a second chance! Goodness, what was he thinking in the first place? This could have a happy ending after all! ] “I’ll make a show detailing all your grand feats for everyone to see! Just you wait, Susie, just you wait!!”
[ Watching him explode with jubilation, the young monster girl knew what she had to ask for next wouldn’t be easy. ] “In exchange, you gotta let Toriel go. People depend on her in town, y’know.” [ Tenna anticipated a question like that. His head fell to gaze onto the floor, debating the consequences of this betrayal might do to him. Only for a second, though. Augh, he didn’t care about that anymore! Family mattered more to him than some knight offering his hopes and dreams on a silver platter. ] “You’re right!” [ he perked up, confident in his decision now. ] “That knight is gonna hate this, but…” [ Again, who cares! ] “All of you deserve this more! This is MY game show, and I can choose whatever I wanna do on here! Forward to your rewards!”
[ The show host went on ahead to make sure their prize was safe and sound, and soon the group rejoined him after a small conversation. ] “Ladies! Gentlemen! Both, and neither!” [ he shone bright as a star as he called out, his warmth radiating to those below. ] “Would everyone congratulate our brave- and kindhearted Lightners who endured these trials and rightfully earned their place as our winners of the show!!” [ A joyous audience followed suit, cheering out as they all clapped for the heroes in front of them. ] “Their GRAND PRIZE?”
[ The holiday tree was gestured out towards enthusiastically, a small magical force lifting the gachapon capture device that held the mother-turned-queen downward. Once the ball was on the ground, it was then pulled apart to release said mother from her confines. ] “Ms. Toriel!! Still sleeping like a baby, huh?” [ ‘That must’ve been one cozy chair.’ Tenna remarked internally to himself before blasting yet again with exuberance and jubilation. “My dreams come true: the Dreemurr family is together once again! Isn’t this all amazing?!”
“Now, after so long, you all can lea–”
