★ against all odds

The cinemas is buzzing with noises and Sejeong is rather bored as she sits on the bench. Her gaze couldn’t help but drift towards the long line where Jaebum is queuing up to buy their popcorn and drinks, after he insisted on her taking a seat by the side. A sweet smile graces her, and a fluffy, floating feeling in her chest at how caring he is towards her from the point he picked her up for their date, and in fact all the time.

It took her awhile for reality to sink in ever since that day waking up in his bedroom and getting a shock of her life, at least she could now call him her boyfriend without her face spontaneously bursting into shade of crimson red. While they couldn’t meet often because of his hectic schedule and her busy school life, she is easily satisfied with just mere a short message from him, or the time they could video call each other in the night before going to bed. 

Although, she is starting to get a little uncomfortable at how the couple sitting next to her on the long bench is getting way too touchy and inappropriate, and is ever so relieved when she spots Jaebum coming back to her with the snacks and drinks he had bought. She rushes over to his side with a bright smile, helping him to carry some of the stuff to lighten his load, and couldn’t resist stealing a few popcorn to munch on first. 

“We can go in now,” she points out, spotting the hall number for their movie lighting up. “I hope nobody from behind spill their popcorn towards us,” she remarks. It is a horror movie they are watching after all, and one that she chose herself because a few of her classmates watched it and gave good reviews, and so she wanted to give it a try too.

“One piece each from all these cakes and pastries, thank you.” Jihyo requested politely from the staff serving behind the counter, a cheery grin on her nearly makeup-less face while she passed over her card for the payment. A pair of black-rim glasses sat comfortably on her nose, her overall outfit today making her seemed younger, as she pushed a few strand of stray hair back into her beanie. 

Having her order done and her card back, she easily chose a table by the window — overlooking a rather scenic view of the street and park from the second floor where the cafe was located. There was only a handful of other patrons scattered across the place. It was nice and quiet, and she was contented with that. 

The waitress was quick to arrive with her orders, and soon the table was filled full with all sort of cakes and pastries — specialties of the cafe that she had read about online and had wanted to try. She hummed to herself as she starts rearranging the food so she could get better angles of them, careful not to mess up.

Only then did she take out her camera, and had only taken a few shots when the person she was supposed to meet showed up in her sight. She raised her brows up slightly at him, glancing briefly at her watch before speaking. “Take a seat and don’t mind me, you’re even earlier than the last time.” 

There was still approximately 20 minutes before their scheduled meeting time, and him having arrived so early somewhat caught her off guard. She hadn’t even finish taking pictures that would be uploaded onto her blog for a review of the cafe. “You could order yourself some drink while I try to finish up my stuff over here? It won’t take very long.” She suggested, after taking a few more shots of the food.

By now, Seokjin knows that if Im Jaebum isn't to be seen, he's probably holed up in his studio. Jin likes Jaebum, but one thing he’s hopeless at is taking proper care of himself. It’s been a few days since he’s seen him around, and Jin wants to talk to him about a new mission, but he hasn’t been answering his phone, or been hanging around HQ. Which means he’s probably doing it again; burying himself in work, sleeping at the studio and eating nothing apart from shitty instant food. Jin sighs. Will this hyung ever learn? 

Figuring he has to take matters into his own hands, Jin turns up unannounced to the recording studio. This has happened regularly enough that he knows exactly where to go by now, marching his way down the hall and letting himself in. “Hyung,” he whines as he enters. “How long has it been since you left this room?” he asks, flopping down on one of the couches.  

He squints, looking at all of the complicated knobs and keyboards in front of Jaebum’s computer. Frankly, he finds it amazing that Jaebum can even make sense of it all. Even looking at his set-up makes Seokjin’s head swim—no wonder Jaebum ends up cooped in here for days. “What are you working on?” he asks. “Whatever it is, it’s less important than your health, and something tells me you need to go out and get a proper meal.” He taps his fingers against the arm of the couch. Yes, he needs to tell Jaebum about a new target too, but that can come later. Jin’s nagging mode is fully engaged. “Have you been getting enough sleep?”

okay so jaehyung really didn’t sign up for this.

he let jaebum take a shower in his place, because jaebum lived far away and a ex-client of his showed up around the boy’s home a few days ago and jaehyung didn’t want his friend to be hurt. so he opened his home to the other, which was fine and dandy. when he heard the water stopped, he assumed that the other was practically done and was currently getting dressed.

however, he is wrong. and when he opens that door, he realizes how wrong he really is.

jaebum is just standing there, still glistening wet and oh my god jaehyung do not look at his dick.

the only thing jaehyung manages to do is choke back a scream and just slam the door. his own door. the bathroom door. where jaebum is naked.

jaehyung takes this moment to just run into his room and hide under the blankets until he hears jaebum laughing in the bathroom while jaehyung muffles his screams into a pillow.

better than anticipated || past

Alright, so her mother was out of the country once again. But why did that mean Sera had to represent her at this party? Why couldn’t she simply decline the invitation peacefully, like she should have? Of course her mother had to tell her last minute too... Sera was too responsible, and her mother knew how to manipulate that to her advantage. So, much to her dismay, there she was, stepping out of her ride and into the venue with her ever so polite smiles.

Appearance wise, she easily fit into these settings. She was beautiful, well groomed, and carried herself with much dignity. She was, after all, of very good breeding. But that image was very much tainted the moment she opened her mouth, not because her speech was less refined than she was, but her ideology simply clashed with a lot the rules, values, and beliefs of the majority of the attendees of these settings. She was never afraid of speaking her mind, and that was very often quite unwelcome.

She sighed and braced herself for another night, reminding herself that she’d survived countless of these gatherings before, and she was going to survive this one too, (hopefully without the need to send someone to the hospital, or a need to go to court for being way too sharp). But then the reminder that she was set up to be with someone tonight seeped in on her, and once again, she was sighing.

"What would constitute a perfect day for you?"

★ honesty hour not a canon conversation, since wonwoo isn’t likely to discuss his home life this deeply with a stranger.

“a good night’s sleep, helped by sleeping in.” he answers immediately, firmly, as if he’s been waiting for this question. truly, he just knows exactly what he wants from life, a luxury he realises a lot of people don’t have. “late breakfast, the apartment lightly warmed by sunlight but not so hot that I’m sweating; that’s gross.” his nose wrinkles in disgust. “it doesn’t matter what I do the rest of the day, as long as it’s something relaxing or that makes me happy. I like long walks through nature, but I also like quietly reading at home, so I’m not that hard to please despite popular belief.” he hums momentarily, taking a short pause to think about his evening. “a light lunch, to leave more room for dinner in the evening. I’m not fussy about it being home-cooked or ordered specifically, as long as I’m eating something, I’m happy. let dinner go down for a while, then a warm bath, wrap up in warm sleepwear, relax until I fall asleep.”

he shrugs, “I like the little things.” (and his boyfriend to do it all with, of course.)

it was so tight. why the hell was it so tight?

if he had been a truly honest, straightforward man, he would have let out a yell and ripped off the tie that was currently asphyxiating him, tugging him towards a slow and painful death.

okay, that was an exaggeration - but still. who has so much time as to design such useless and annoying pieces of fabric? in all honesty, it did a damn good job of making him want to get things over with faster, although the only person that would really benefit from that was the equally well-dressed (if not more. probably more. he could literally smell the scent of money off of jaebum’s suitcoat) man sitting beside him.

he had a terrible reputation for being a complete pain in the ass when he was bored (which, to be fair, was something he didn’t deny), not to mention the fact that he tired of things faster than an old house cat reaching the end of its lifespan.

but this? this is why he never went out on field missions. this was ridiculous. he’d prefer a ski mask and a baseball bat over this, and he hated looking like the stereotypical robber.

instead, he decides to release his frustration through another outlet; namely, his partner.

he’s sure they’re being watched with some form of wariness; the establishment was quite sophisticated and most certainly important to some degree. nevertheless, there’s a subtle smirk that decorates his lips as he leans over just the slightest, making sure to fall within earshot.

“hey, rich boy, you look like you’re shaking in your dress shoes. you sure you didn’t sign up for the wrong job?”

it’s a clear jab at the male’s ego, and although it was baseless and without much causation, hyojung can’t help but test the waters just the slightest, to poke at the man’s mask for the hell of it.

oh boy, this was going to be fun.
