This is my Tally Bandz mixtape review. Giving you my reaction to her mixtapes that she has released so far. I'm talking about Tally Bandz, Bad Bitch Music Volume 1 and Bad Bitch Music Volume 2. Let's talk about and review her music catalog. And if you don't know who she is. Well you are going to find out today! She is taking the craft real serious. She is not playing around. Wiz Khalifa & Curren$y - 2009 | MIXTAPE REVIEW

Wiz and Curren$y’s mixtape is a chill listen and one I’d recommend if you wanna relax for a second. Their subtle tone along with the non-flashy production contributes towards a decent project as a whole.

Curren$y is starting to grow on me and this mixtape is another reason as to why. He didn’t do anything amazing but I’m starting to understand him more as a rapper. Neither of the pair stood out against the other in my opinion, and it was better that way because it fitted with the vibe of the mixtape and just made sense.

The flimsy structure can be seen as a both a good or bad thing, but I don’t have much to complain about that as it didn’t create to much damage towards the project. The two could have also gone with no feature throughout 2009 and it still would have been just as good.

In terms of content, you come across the subtle flexing, the weed bars and the life lessons but you can also make out the responsibilities that both rappers are taking up as human beings. 

This is something I’d slap on whilst I’m keeping myself busy, just to keep ones mind at ease.

Big K.R.I.T - TDT | MIXTAPE REVIEW

Big K.R.I.T is somebody who I’ve never really listened to and doesn’t seem to receive his deserved respects in the rap game for his works. His latest mixtape or compilation tape or whatever you call this thing, is an average project, soaked in simplicity (which isn’t a negative).

K.R.I.T is the kind of artist you need to listen to every once in a while to keep your head straight. His meaty songs often provide you with some shit to actually listen to, and you may take away a few lessons to learn from the rapper too.

For instance Higher (King Pt. 6), is a respectable song and an insightful one to listen to also.

Even though the tracks sound like some polished throw aways, the mixtape overall works out to be a short casual listen. I doubt I’ll return to it often, if not ever; however I am anticipating a new K.R.I.T album because 4IAMLT was such a strong listen.

Robb Bank$ & Wifisfuneral - Conn3ct3d | MIXTAPE REVIEW

Robb and Wifi’s slightly delayed project is a mild joy for those interested in the underground Florida scene. As for me, I like the pair and overall think Conn3ct3d isn’t too much of a bad mixtape.

The two clearly show great chemistry across the tape going back and forth supplying energetic flows with bass driven beats. It’s done naturally and unlike other joint mixtapes/albums nothing seems forced or extra; the minimalism does bits on the tape.

Content wise you ain’t getting much outside of popping percs, fucking bitches and getting racks. It’s one dimensional in that area but this was expected. Their didn’t seem to be much effort put into making the mixtape stand out, but then again Bank$ and Wif have their own unique styles so maybe this wasn’t so necessary.

As I previously mentioned, the mixtape doesn’t do much, but it is pretty lit. I guess it’s only enjoyable to those who like Wifi and Robb and the whole underground scene but it’s still lacking and fairly dull.

Jaden Smith - The Sunset Tapes: A Cool Tape Story | MIXTAPE REVIEW

For so much words, their is so little substance on Jaden’s new project.

Understanding this mixtape is like trying to solve a Rubix cube whilst giving a lecture on the history of political philosophy. It was a bit of a mess.

Their were some sly glimpses of average bars but it was nothing impactful or generally memorable.

The fact that the project started off well with SOHO gave me some hope that the mixtape would be good; after all SYRE wasn’t too bad.

Their was little structure, little originality and the mixtape was an alternative mess. I struggle to see the appeal behind the project, in terms of content.

The majority of the Internet refer to Jaden as corny and tend to hate on him. Personally I’m against all that BS, but this mixtape is actually corny.

Genuinely not much to say on a project full of bland ballads. Disappointment.

Trippie Redd - A Love Letter To You 3 | MIXTAPE REVIEW

This mixtape was a bit uneven in terms of content, but as a whole it’s clear that love and feelings and all that is the theme of the mixtape (hence why it’s part of the love letter series).

None the less I’m not really scurrying towards this mixtape for it’s bars; that’s not to say I expect the absolute worse as Trippie showed us in August he’s got some in him.

Trippe's melodies are normally top notch and on ALLTY3 there are no exceptions. However sometimes I think he’s battling with some cold instrumentals and it doesn’t always work out for him, making some songs feel deflated.

The project manages to stay interesting throughout and I never found myself getting bored at any point on the mixtape. That’s not to say their wasn’t any weak felt tracks. 

This is a cool mixtape with some credible tracks. However you’ll like it based on how much you enjoy Trippie’s sound. Personally I think it’s nice but only to a certain extent.

Roddy Ricch - Feed Tha Streets II | MIXTAPE REVIEW

In perfect timing while Roddy Ricch, is beginning to blow, the California based rapper dropped his second mixtape, Feed Tha Streets 2. 

However Roddy decides to slightly switch up his rap style which kinda made the mixtape a underwhelming.

I haven’t completely listened to Feed Tha Streets part 1, but their are a handful of songs which I enjoyed from the tape and made me like Roddy’s songs.

This mixtape was just a different experience. Roddy is more anecdotal and less energetic on this project. That was quite irritating because he’s pretty early into his career and already switching up his flow. Plus his unique adventurous flow was the primary reason why I enjoyed his music.

The mixtape felt like it was dipping into that common modern day gangster rap category, as their wasn’t many risks taken.

Although their were a few bad joints on the tape, Roddy defines why he is one to continue watching. From the zero features, to the emotion you could physically hear in his tracks, it seems like he’s here to stay.

You could argue that something influenced him to switch up his style from the first to this current mixtape, or maybe this is just a one off. That’s completely understandable. 

None the less the project wasn’t awful but more of a let down. If you’re patient enough it could grow on you.
