"Oh, Tomioka." he hadn't expected giyuu to still be here, but he's glad that he is. he hadn't said what he would like to have for this day, but as it was offhandedly mentioned in the earlier parts of the morning, sandalphon committed it to memory. "Today's the day you were born, as I recall." he can make due with improvising, but he's no good at coming up with gifts on the spot — these kinds of events were celebrated, weren't they? 

"I wish to show my appreciation.. both for your hard work and your progress." at least getting the base of stuff down, inching closer and closer to better tasting coffee. "So, tell me. Is there anything you want?"

Truthfully, Mitsuba felt a little out of his element.

He kept having to remind himself that he’d definitely, absolutely, been through worse, and all things considered, ‘out of his element working in a coffee shop’ was a much better alternative than ‘out of his element suddenly having to do Important Supernatural Things while battling identity issues among other traumatizing events’. So, comparatively, you know.

All -- all he had to do was get into the swing of things and he’d be fine! Plus, the money and some sort of schedule would be nice. He... could be normal!

“Right. Okay. You’ve got this, Mitsuba.”

... and he hadn’t meant to say that out loud. Maybe -- maybe none of his new coworkers were around to have heard it. Mitsuba gave a glance ar--never mind. Never mind. One of the other baristas had been standing almost right beside him, and with some sort of weird “bwgheh!” sound, Mitsuba had hopped back.

“... whoa...”

Boy, he looked, uh... scary miserable.

“What’s with the long face? Someone die or something?”

Oh shit, Mallek’s gotten completely and utterly lost in this little excursion of his. Really, when he got up early in the morning he didn’t expect his decision to check out a ward he had yet to become acquainted with to wind up like this. Then again, he also should’ve known better than to expect exploration to be smooth sailing more often than not. This Archimedes Ward may have bested him for the first ten seconds of his walking, but it isn’t like him to give in so early on. If he could Get Over It, he can absolutely do this.

... Alright, but where should he go first? Fuck.

  Silence once held was overtaken by the sudden desire to speak; to voice recognition the moment eyes locked on that of familiar figure. A predator’s gaze quickly focusing on ideal prey. A personal show of respect was remembering those with substantial strength, that showed him overwhelming potential within the field of battle. He remembered.

  Every fiber of his being remembered, igniting all at once. Regardless of how their last interaction concluded; how they parted ways, there was excitement that refused to die. Etched in similarly to his own instincts.

  Eyelids rise further widening an already intent gaze... and a smile graces the demons features.

     ❝I wasn’t expecting a chance to see you again,❞ and briefly do Akaza’s sights shift, from the face of the slayer to the very instrument they were known to carry. With its appearance there is a surge of envy, brief though it was. It’s quickly replaced with twisted glee.

     ❝Haha! Look at you -- managing to retain your sword while the rest of us are left bare! I should expect nothing less from someone of your level.

There’s always something about a young man who carries weight on his shoulders. Whether he is self aware of it or not, he always composes himself in a distinctive manner. Not to be confused with common personality traits; a man who experiences life difficulties and hardships beyond the average is almost uncannily and precisely distant. He wanders throughout streets with a certain appearance of his brows, his eyes. Despite any mask worn, any hiding of his face, the hardened rock of weathered emotion will forever reveal itself in his eyes, should they be accessible. In some it performed in early age wrinkles, in others it expressed itself by a dimmed light that held onto cold memories, memories that even if dormant, still held a judging gavel. 

He spots the younger immediately, wandering throughout the darkened paths of Little Tokyo’s sidewalks. It’s late, somewhere around two to three am, and what party goers were left laugh loudly as they stumble into each other, bracing onto one another for an nightly alcoholism’s support. Among them remains two sober individuals, the boy and himself, both of which share the same area. He stands as a pillar as he’s passed, neon lime visor trailing after silent steps.

“Perhaps it is unwise of me to ask. But you do not seem as if you belong here during this hour. Are you running away from something?”
