The lovely @Pandamunk sent me an ask for this meme on my personal blog.

So I thought it would be a good opportunity to “finalize” Isseti’s design and post it here with answers. I say “finalize” because I can never promise that I won’t update or alter, but I’m happy with this now. And I’m one character closer to finishing up The Fail Trio (Isseti, Milagros, and Rogelio )- I should think of a nicer name to call them.

Full Name: Isseti Moreau Gender and Sexuality: Female. Demiromantic. Pronouns: She, her, hers Ethnicity/Species: French, Cape Verdean American / Demigod / Human in other universes Birthplace/ Birthdate: Las Vegas, NV. Date varies depending on the timeline. I’d play Isseti from ages 12 thru late 30s mostly. I headcanon that children of the Big Three don’t live long lives.

Guilty Pleasures: She has the biggest crush on Morgan Freeman because of his voice. Friends have told her about his age and so she’s embarrassed by it. Voices attract her a lot and she likes to imagine how the person looks like.

Since Isseti lost her sight gradually, she was able to watch Pokemon. Her favorite was Squirtle. She had lost her sight completely  by the time she started to attend camp but Isseti and Milagros still bonded over the show. They would talk as their favorite pokemon when they were very young. Many thought it weird but sometimes when they’re in private they still do a small “Squirtle. Squirtle,” and “Bulb-Bulbasaur,” shouting at one another. When Isseti’s tired, she’s a Snorlax but she saves that one for Milagros.  So yeah acting weird and playfully talking to her friend in Poke-speak is a guilty pleasure.

Phobias: Since her powers allow her to see people’s “life auras” one of her biggest fears is to have one of her friend’s die in front of her. Having them die in general would suck, too.

She’s afraid of drowning and dislikes swimming a lot. She’d kick and scream if anyone tries to get her into a body of water that’s not a bathtub or jacuzzi.

What They Would Be Famous For: Isseti may not be an Apollo demigod, but she’s fairly musically talented. She’s had some training thanks to her mother, a harpist. She’d like to learn how to DJ (and does manage) because she loves sound mixing. In other universes, she goes to school for sound editing and design.

Alternatively, Isseti would use the power to produce nearly priceless gems out of the ground. She’d likely be a gem seller with her mother helping manage as her mother comes from a rather well-off family who owns some mines.

OC You Ship Them With: I ship Isseti with both Milagros and Rogelio if we’re talking about what OCs of mine that I ship her with. Neither of these pairings would last very long as they’re better off friends.

OC Most Likely to Murder Them: Kiana but to be fair Kiana would kill a lot of my other characters.

Favorite Movie/ Book Genre: She enjoys musical movies or dance movies, they tend to have good soundtracks. For favorite book genre, Historical fiction and Supernatural Thrillers are some of her favorites.

Least Favorite Movie/ Book Cliche: She doesn’t like drama movies or many types of slashers. As for Book cliches, she’s not too big a fan of endings where you find out that everything was just a dream at the end. That stands for movies as well.

Talents and/or Powers: Isseti is musically talented in some string instruments. Great with dogs - she used to help train some of her mother’s dogs and counts it a talent. Isseti has a mind for pronunciation and diction - this includes rapping.

Powers include “seeing” people’s life auras. Producing hard gems from the earth for protection and decoration. Raising undead soldiers. All powers are strengthened gradually but life aura is her starter.

Why Someone Might Love Them: Isseti is open-minded and accepting of many different types of people. She would be the type to have a number of friends from various backgrounds and adopt them into her small family. She’s friendly although she can be too flirtatious at times.

Why Someone Might Hate Them: Lacks confidence at times. Isseti’s deadly sin is pride. She’s proud to be one of the Big Three’s children but she also can feel very inadequate. Anything that really prods badly enough at this feeling can set her off into doing something reckless. Isseti has a hot temper when she feels someone is patronizing her.

On a socio-economic level, Isseti comes from a rather well-off family in the mining and gem selling business. She’s grown up economically privileged and can sometimes say things that makes it rather clear that she doesn’t worry too much about money.

How They Change: Isseti becomes a better judge of character as she becomes older. She knows not everyone’s out to be her friend despite wanting to be friendly with a lot of people. She grows to know that she comes from a place of economic privilege whereas Milagros and Rogelio did not and had single mothers who really had to hustle to make ends meet. That isn’t to say that her own mother did not, but she had her own unique hardships. Isseti learns to be more confident in her abilities and while pride will always be an issue, she likely builds close-knit, trusting friendships where she’s not grinding her teeth too much at the thought of asking for help.

Why You Love Them: Isseti is a character that I’ve had for years but didn’t really revisit until about 2 years ago. I like her because of the idea of a blind girl who is the child of one of the Big Three. When she’s not a demigod, I really love how she challenges the world. As a DJ, much of her equipment is customized for her so that she can move around faster with it. She’s also very technologically adept because of it. She exists in Dulcedomum as one of Anastasia’s friends from California and should Anastasia ever tell her about being a wizard, she’d likely be one of the more chill ones about it. I want to do more with her and learn more about her so if anyone wants to RP let me know!

I’ve had this around for the last couple of days and since I know I’m not going to clean up Carnero, I figured it was time to post. Ever so slowly, I’ll draw the fail trio. 

Here’s to an attempt to get back into drawing and RPing, too, because I really want to RP with Milagros. If anyone is interested, let me know. 

Those braids will be the death of me, so I like to pretend she wears it in several different styles.

Milagros Zapata- Dulcedomum. Demigod. 

As a demigod, she is the ever tired, but dream interpreting daughter of Morpheus. Mila struggles with an inferiority complex and finding her place in this new, exciting world she’s found herself in. Lover of oversized sweaters and leggings, this girl can be found attempting to avoid training and sneaking a nap on the outskirts of camp. Weapon: Staff that seems to be made out of a hardy wood with a heavy dome top for bludgeoning. Turns into a necklace when not in use.  

As a wind wizard, Milagros is the daughter of a mother who had no idea about their own wizard lineage. They live on the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic in the 1920s-1930s until the Parsley Massacre breaks the family apart. Orphaned, Milagros is shortly found by wizard-guardian pair Diego and Carmella Kaan and taken to Dulcedomum (the house may not have been on the island at this time). The 19 year old Milagros struggles to assimilate into her new life. 

Carnero - Milagros’ wind spirit, Carnero, first approached her days before the Massacre as he was attracted to her free spirit and hard work on the family farm. Believing that she was going crazy, Milagros fled at the sight of the talking ram. He ends up following her to Dulcedomum where he stalked the outskirts of the house. A little more than a year later, they made a pact.

The next character I’m discussing is Anjo! I don’t think it’ll be as long as the last two but who knows. Also one of the few characters I haven’t thought about for Dulce NPC ... but really ... who knows.. everything is Dulce and nothing hurts. 

Anjo was originally created for Jingdou and was in the air-water gang, Kesuk Qilaq. He’s changed a good amount since then. He was originally an airbender, but I then decided that I didn’t like having a character of a “race” that was confirmed to have all but one deceased. At least, that’s before Korra and the whole spirit portal thing changed the world so that air benders outside of Aang’s family exist. Still, I think I’m good with Anjo as a water bender. 

For the love of everything, I cannot remember how he got his name. The only thing that shows up for me is Anjo Japan, but I know that’s not where his name originates from. meh ... 

Anjo comes from a mixed earth bender-water bender family. His father was a soldier who met his mother when he was stationed in the Earth Kingdom. Kept in touch while on his various expeditions and when the war was over, his mother and father settled down. In the Korra-verse, his parents were neighbors who ended up reconnecting years after one of them moved away. 

Anjo’s the only waterbender in his family. His two brothers and one sister are all earth benders. Their family operates a delivery company by sea and land travel. It’s possible that they have someone in their family that gets air bending and befriends a bison; therefore, adding air travel to their services. 

 Anjo is a physical worker. He’s always lifting something, moving something, and using his strength. Thus, he keeps in good shape. He’s also tall as hell 6′6″? 

He’s friendly with most people and enjoys meeting people from all parts of town. He tends to befriend his more frequent customers, including a young girl who he delivers medicine too, an old botanist who has tons of plants mailed to her, and a university student who suffers from homesickness. The girl with the medicine ends up passing away and Anjo picks up the Hulusi, an instrument that the girl played often. They were good friends, but because she came from higher society he wasn’t informed that she had died. 

The family company eventually becomes of interest to the local gang. He first refuses to join, but the idea of having some power and protection is tempting, especially in the poor part of town where his family lives. He doesn’t know much about tea so he likely buses tables at the gang-owned tea shop (was it a tea shop? I can’t remember now). 

His brothers are the only ones who know about the gang, his youngest brother also wants in but because of the segregation between water bender and earth bender, he is refused. I remember some triads in Korra being separated by element while some like the Triple Threats were mixed. He loves pro bending and he tends to listen to the radio during longer trips outside of town when he can. He dreams of going to a game, but he tends to miss many due to long days at work or some other mishap. 

Anjo’s one vice, is his unwillingness to turn down a challenge or a bet. He has a bit of a gambling problem and that has landed him in some deep trouble. His sister, who keeps the books for the company, keeps him on his toes and helps regulate his spending, but there’s always other things to gamble away that isn’t money. Surprisingly, his blind eye isn’t a cause of some gambling gone wrong. It’s due to bits of rock piercing his eye when he was play fighting his brothers. He was 9. 

I’m not sure what else to say about Anjo other than he’s pretty well-mannered, level-headed, and affectionate. He isn’t the brightest crayon in the box, but he typically means well. Isn’t one to jump straight to physical altercation when he’s in trouble despite his strength. He is definitely more bark than he is bite. He uses his size to his advantage making himself look mean and strong and physically imposing, but if anyone were to really challenge him he’d look dumbstruck. It does’t mean he wouldn’t be able to hold his own after getting over the shock.

I mentioned that I wanted to write more about characters on here. At least, have a bit of information about each one of my more important ones. 

So here’s Kiana (formerly Kiowa).

Kiana’s original universe was one where she was an indigenous person in a land where people gained an +Anima after a life-threatening occurrence (I think. At this point, I can’t remember much, but it was pretty much along those lines of... my life is being threatened... ooo look a bird! *sprouts wings and escapes*. Except in her case it was an octopus). Those with +Anima were also abducted by one of the fictional nations as slaves. Kiana was one of them having been torn away from her seaside tribe and taken as a slave. She eventually escaped and found a new “family”, but she was constantly on the lookout for where her original family could be. When it came to people of the slave-taking nation, she was pretty violent and once physically attacked a former soldier from that nation. While Kiana was pretty mellow, there were things she’d act out against and citizens or outcasts from that nation were one of them. On another note, she also lived off of her ocean catches and the jewelry that she made. She cared more about her family (Docksides was their name?) than the fully human villagers in the new land she settled in. Often times, she’d overcharge people for the pieces that she made. She had no qualms about it. 

My current incarnation of Kiana is more ruthless. She’s still dedicated to whatever “family” she manages to have, but definitely a tough love sort of girl. A rather influential saleswoman when she’s not glaring at someone, she’d convince you that you need her turquoise inlaid, sterling silver cuff when you probably shouldn’t spend that much money. Quick to attack what enemies she or her family has, she is known for quick and violent attacks. Her method of attack is to scare the opponent, destroy everything they love, and ask questions later. This mostly has to do with former slave owners, artificial intelligent dictators, and possibly ... knights? The only thing that does stop her is her dedication to family.
