MJ Cafe - Wintermelon Tea Latte

(Location: Sawtelle, Los Angeles, CA)

The wintermelon is a favorite at the flagship MJ location in Rowland Heights, so I thought I’d give a try now that it’s finally made its way to Sawtelle. The wintermelon flavor is sharp and unique as ever, but the texture is too one-dimensionally creamy without any thickness to it. The flavor is also not as salty as what I’d expect from a sea salt drink. Overall, it’s alright.

MJ Café – Brown Sugar Pudding Milk Slushie

This is more of a traditional iced milk drink than a slushie, but it also nailed the concept. Aside from being very pretty to look at, the drink was just right at half sugar. The pudding was PERFECT, and you can taste the honey in the honey boba. However, the honey boba COULD be a bit softer and the drink does taste slightly milkier than Purple Kow and Half and Half.
