If there’s one thing that I really HATE about Ragnarok ASIDE FROM the obvious destruction of all of the characters and the shitting-on of previous world-building. IT’S THIS GARBAGE RIGHT HERE.
Asgard WAS NOT BUILT by slaves. It was not built from stolen gold. It was built BY THE ASGARDIANS. The ASGARDIANS got together and with the Vanir (Frigga’s people) together built Asgard into its golden glory.
SLAVES WERE NEVER IN NO WAY INVOLVED. THIS IS HORSESHITE.
And if you ever in any way attempt to tell me otherwise or try to tell me Odin was some sort of warmongering ruler by rubbing this piece of shite film in my face then I’m going to block you. And I don’t block people easily. I think it’s a lack of character. But this? This is bullshit. The lives Odin took weren’t for the sake of “colonization” or “conquering” or any of that other “white man bad” narrative bullshite that tumblr is SO FOND of smearing all over white/Euro-centric cultures without any consideration for Indo-Asian or African or Indian or Indigenous cultures (yeah, they’ve all done the Bad Stuffs too, so take a hike, ignoramus).
The lives Odin took were to preserve the existence of lesser realms in the face of annihilation and in relation to treaties with other realms that he couldn’t ignore when they called for aid (such as Vanaheim in the beginning of TDW).
THAT’S why I love how Loki attempts to make this parallel of his actions to Odin’s; it’s called DESPERATION AND DENIAL. He’s DENYING the fact that what he’s done is NOT righteous or just or lawful. He’s DESPERATE to internally vindicate himself because he can’t fully decide if what he did [to Midgard] was on his own terms or with the “convincing” of Thanos and his minion-children-of-death the Black Order.
I am so sick of this “Odin bad” narrative being shoved up my face just because it’s cool and popular now to hate on the previous generation and blame them for all our problems instead of owning up and taking responsibility for ourselves and how our actions and choices in our life have fucked up our own life, totally apart from our elders.
Yeah, Odin made mistakes, but so did Loki fucking Laufeyson and if you try to absolve him of all sins then you need to take an introspective look at your life and do a major reconstruction of your logic process. Because Loki’s done some shit that he needs to be accountable for. If Thor’s done shit and you make him accountable, if Odin, if Frigga, then so too should Loki also be.
Ragnarok is not and never should be considered canon; those murals and Hela’s whole vomit-inducing cliche evil-secret-child narrative are bullshite.

I had an excellent workout with my trainer this morning, in an INCREDIBLE mood, walking my dogs ON LEASH. Then I’m stooped over picking up their poop at the edge of a yard less than an inch from a GIANT bear dump and this dude come out and is like “Oh, hi, could you not have them poop right there on the grass? *condescending smile*”
I was like “you mean right next to this giant pile of bear scat? Sure, I’ll just tell ‘em to hold it till we aren’t anywhere near grass.”
Bitch, you live IN THE MOUNTAINS. You are SURROUNDED by wildlife. But you’re in a tizzy over my 42lbs and 8lbs dogs’ poops that I’m picking up immediately. What... Why do you live in literal fucking wilderness?

I’ve slowly been working through my request inbox so requests are currently closed until further notice! (Obviously this does not include asks related to general inquiries/miscellaneous!!)
When I open my asks back up I will be taking a slight (very slight because I can’t resist) Spencer hiatus and will be focusing on my BAU girls for a little while :P so please please please send me a little inspiration/thoughts/anything on your mind! Elle, Emily, and Penelope are at the top of my priorities!
On another note, I will also be moving to another country next month, and due to the nature of my employment will be slightly off grid and might not be so consistent with my fics, know that I am still here in spirit and will absolutely be on your feed rambling about anything and everything 😼
