this merthur fic concept is eating my brain and its overdone but okay so til kingdom come by coldplay right?

Arthur is reincarnated and on the side he plays guitar/sings at local pub

And Merlin's friends (maybe other reincarnated members of the gang/someone else) are like "my friend is playing a pub gig and I gotta support him come with me"

Anyway Merlin ends up there and starts internally freaking out because dude is obviously Arthur and hes named Arthur and holy shit right?

And then Arthur is like "yeah so, this next song is a little out there, because I've been having weird dreams, and this is what came of it"

And then he sings til kingdom come

And Merlin is just loosing it - like just completely unable to say anything or process anything

after Arthur comes over to say hi to his friend and Merlin DIPS because he cant deal with this

So he goes out back to smoke because I decided he has a smoking habit in this one

And then Arthur comes out to like, smoke too ig

And then banter because Merlin is incapable of not being a little shit and he has to catch himself from using 'sire' or 'my lord' as an insult

And they shake hands (Merlin is internally LOOSING HIS SHIT)

And the touch is like, sparks flying and all that

And Arthur is like "I'm sure I must know you from somewhere" and Merlin just kinda. Stares at him.

then just says "Yeah, I know you" and RUNS AWAY

Arthur spends like a week tracking his ass down via mutual friends

Having increasingly vivid dreams of Camelot the whole time and Merlin and then dreams of Merlin throughout the years as he waited for Arthur

Finally he catches Merlin like after a class or something (Merlin is a grad student because of course he is)

And Merlin just like, keeps walking, because he can't face an Arthur who doesn't know him

and Arthur is chasing him a bit being like "you said you know me and it sounded a whole lot like you KNOW me and the dreams are stronger and you're there but how is that possible and am I going insane"

And catches up to Merlin and grabs his arm - and it all hits. full memory download

And then he just breaks off as Merlin turns around to meet his eyes

"Merlin" he breathes

"Arthur?" and Merlin's voice is about to break because hes so terrified that this man doesn't really know him and can't be his Arthur and

Then they're grabbing each other and hugging and both crying a bit and Arthur asks him like - I saw you waiting and was that real □ And Merlin says something to the effect of, "you absolute prat its been 1500 years"

Arthur is just loosing it because he is in awe of this man and does about the only thing he can do and kisses him

Anyway I'm super normal about them

Something I've noticed when reading Superbat fanfic as of late is how people write Alfred. Specifically how Alfred addresses other people.

I'll see Alfred calling Clark 'Master Clark' or 'Master Kent', but that wouldn't be his title if Bruce and Clark just started dating. Bruce is called Master Bruce because he's the Master of the house/head of the estate. The Robins all get Young Master/Master because they're Bruce's family, and would inherit the home if something happened to Bruce.

In the early stages of their relationship, Alfred would likely call Clark 'Mister Kent'. Him changing to 'Master Clark' would be a pivotal moment because it shows that A) the relationship is serious enough that Clark is considered a part of the family, and B) that Alfred respects Clark enough and acknowledges his place in the family to make that change.

Tldr: Alfred only calls the owner of the Estate (and his wards) 'Master' because he's a proper gentleman.

Please imagine Zelda learning some Zonai words from Mineru whenever she pricks/shocks/pinches/burns herself working on constructs. Then Mineru has to inform Zelda she is not allowed to repeat such words.

(It's not Zelda swearing in Zonai that would be the problem. It would be Rauru inevitably teasing Mineru that of all the words she could have taught Zelda it was the Zonai equivalent of 'shit'.)
