The amount of time they spend on the character’s emotions - utilizing the character’s inner conflicts as obstacles, the gratification of fully fleshed plot lines and payoff to EVERYTHING
And it’s no surprise that Arnav in IPK was so well written considering the writers of MJHT were involved. They wrote SIX characters well, had two PARALLEL LEADS AND LOVE STORIES and completed almost every other plot line.
The lows of MJHT are nothing compared to the highs.
I doubt there’s any Indian television show that came to this level of supreme execution on itv. And execution on all levels.
IPK takes the cake in romance and anti hero - I don’t think any show will ever match the level of angst, passion, romance and characterization of an anti hero ever.
But MJHT will always be the one show that overall was the best. I think we’ve stopped having shows that deal with young minds, emotions, friendships, love and comedy the way MJHT did. It’s iconic in its own right.
