I REALLY need to talk about Lila she's so important to the story

Varian's clan life pt.2

*Varian is six and Lila is 23

*At Lila's house*

Lila: So, do you like your new room?

Varian: It's nice, I'm just not used to.....

Lila: Being so close to the ground for so long?

Varian: Yes. This is all just so new for me.

Lila: But look at how well you're adapting! You've only been here for a few hours and you've adjusted to the village. For most, it takes at least two weeks.

Varian: I guess visiting here helped me with getting used to it.

Lila: It seems so. Now, would you be a dear and help me make dinner?

Varian: I'll try, but I've never cooked before.

Lila: Then this is a perfect learning opportunity! First we need to gather the ingredients. Most everything we need is in my garden, so let's get to harvesting.

Varian: "Harvesting"? What's that?

Lila: It's when we pick the vegetables out of the ground to eat or sell. Now, we'll need: carrots, cucumber, tomatoes, and lettuce. I have the carrots, lettuce, and tomatoes. I'll show you how to harvest them, and when you've got the hang of it, I'll go into the village to get the cucumbers. Sound good?

Varian: *nods* This means I get to get dirty!

Lila: Yes, yes it does. Now come, let's get this done before the sun goes down.

*After dinner*

Lila: You did splendid for your first time, Varian!

Varian: But...I messed up the lettuce...like, really bad.

Lila: Everyone fails the first time they try something little one, the important thing is that you gave it your all and did not allow your failure to hold you back. Practice is key. The more you practice, the less you'll fail.

Varian: So, it's sort of like training?

Lila: It's EXACTLY like training, Varian. Remember that for tomorrow.

Varian: Who will be training me?

Lila: I will. I see nothing but pure potential in you, and I want to bring all of it out. I just know that you'll be something great, Varian.

Varian: Really? I just think that I'm some kid.

Lila: You are not just "some kid". You are Varian, the only one of her kind, an unbreakable spirit, a true warrior on the inside and soon on the outside as well.

Varian: How do you know all of that?

Lila: Let's just say that I have a special feeling about it. Now, up to bed. You've a long day tomorrow.

Varian: OK, goodnight Lila

Lila: Goodnight, little one.
