I’m overjoyed that Spider is actually acknowledged in an official source in the year 2019, but... pls, can we see him in action again?

New thing I appreciate about Spider as a specials character is that he allowed Hakuba to know people are after Kid’s life. Manga Hakuba shows no signs of him canonically being aware of the org or the fact that Kid is under threat from more than just the jerk jewel owner of the week. Specials Hakuba is like ‘frick, this assassin is after Kid’ right off the bat.
Not sure if I’ll finish this, but if I don’t, here’s a thing anyway.
I miss Spider.
WHO WANTS SPIDERR!!!!!??? @thenightmarebyyourside you do lmao
Also BlackOrg!Kid and Spider are fucking dating in my fanfic AU and I’m dead
Wait here. Let me deal with them...
Crack ship of Shinichi and the assassin, Spider. Of course it’ll have some issues, but ship took hold far too quickly when you try to throw something random at an RP partner and find out how well it could work between the muses.
And bonus. Because that alone is probably on the creepy end, and quick sketches aren’t too bad:
(Gunter getting hurt a bit and Shinichi scolding him for trying to deal with people using weapons on his own, while helping take care of the injury. (Though he just knows the illusionist made them leave on his own, didn’t(/wasn’t allowed) to see how.) Then them settling down to read. (The smol sketch looked less like they were angry/focused/stern, I swear they’re relaxed.))
(And then last thing is just the exasperation that comes when detective who likes you one way, but entirely loathes you on your other job.)
Day 25 of DCMK
Favourite AO case?
Okay, I’ll outright go with technicalities on this one. If you want the straight answer, as in DC AO episode, then for the case it’d be The Séance's Double Locked Room Mystery case (603-605), for fun/entertainment it’d be either The Malice Hidden Behind the Masque (527, I don’t think I’ll ever not find it funny) or Two Days With the Culprit (547-578).
But the answer I want to say is the AO material from Magic Kaito, and that one is looking to be a case that will never be solved. :p
Please, TMS, I know Kaito got a full anime now, but don’t throw this guy you brought in for the specials to be thrown away and left as a vague memory in the back of MK fan’s minds. (Though, ironically, that would fit his image pretty well. Still, please don’t.)
Since I always enjoy reminding people, and showing him to those who don’t know, this guy is known as The Spider. In the specials for Magic Kaito (Kid the Phantom Thief, done by tthe same people who make Conan, not A-1), he was hired by the people looking for Pandora to kill Kid. An assassin, not directly tied to Snake and the others, and he was an actual threat. Really, Snake is a joke. With Spider introduced, the only thing Kaito has going for him is the power of protagonist invulnerability and the fact a random non-canon character can’t truly interfere with the story unless the series itself is taken into complete AO. With him, I wouldn’t really care if it was taken that far, he was a good character.
He was interesting, unknown, he changed things, worked n his own and clearly had little regard for working with Snake. As stagnant as MK has gotten from the rare updates and only the occasional adaptation being given or Kid appearance in DC, moving the story somewhere else so that there’s some conclusion might be more welcome than hated. His story (case) never finished even in the specials. Heck, in the specials, Hakuba was after Spider and not directly after Kid. Kid was the assassin’s target, so Hakuba was using the thief as bait of sorts. (Though not bait to be completely taken, I’m sure). Spider knew Toichi was the original Kid, and that Kaito wasn’t him. He didn’t use guns, he used needles and hypnosis/illusions.
Spider was awesome AO material and I wish we’d seen more of him and gotten answers, or some conclusion.
"Oh, don't worry. I won't catch him until I've completely exposed his identity."
"There wasn't even any point in hiring that suspicious assassin."
