Tharos

Originating from the beastrealm known as Xaa Tharos is the son of Anubis and an unknown mother who had musical talents. Tharos would be known as a demigod based on his lineage, although he wouldn’t know how to his powers. Like Heracles and Anubis, he would need the Kemono to utilize its power to fully unlock his beast form.

After Anubis was stripped of his powers; he and his wife became notorious criminals in Xaa. After Tharos was born; his parents abandoned him as they knew Tharos represented the life the elder gods stole from them.

Tharos would grow up alone becoming a silent theif as everyone in Xaa knew who he was the son of. Though it was mostly for everyone’s safety as his parents would track down potential guardians and killed them. If his parents couldn’t raise Tharos; no one would.

For the longest time he believed no one wanted to love him. That is until he found one of many hideouts his parents had and stole an ancient instrument his mother had. An enchanted instrument called the Saxobone, a deadly instrument to enhance his powers. This instrument can only be used by those with magical abilities which Tharos inherited from his mother.

Tharos would learn how to use it and play harmonic melodies to hypnotize his targets. This allowed him to steal food, money, clothing, and shelter to survive.

Once Xaa collapsed, it was believed that Hideyoshi and Reiko killed his parents where Tharos was finally free to live his life. However only his mother was killed by them, and Anubis managed to survive Xaa’s collapse.

Tharos wondered Outworld free from his parent’s shadows but slipped into old habits as that’s all he ever knew was stealing. Upon a recent attempt at his usual routine, he angered a member of the Khan Guard and fled where he encountered others that changed his life.

He then encountered the Claw of Cerveras, a faction within Outworld composed of those loyal to King Cerveras. as they were on the run from the khan guard in a nearby village. He was throughly witnessing others like him and not recognizing any of the claw of Cerveras members from Xaa.

He decided to help them joining forces with them after they accepted him. Based on their camaraderie, he saw them as a close family, something that he knew was missing in his life. They all liked him and most of all was Gazira.

While they had some things in common, both abandoned and wanting to have recognition. she admired him for his talents, personality, and Charm. Tharos the same as well. Though it is too soon to say for their future, Tharos had developed romantic feelings for the Gazelle.

During many sparing secessions, Gazira was able to get Tharos to utilize some of his father’s abilities in soul magic and in firing energy projectiles. Tharos will fight alongside his allies to ensure they seek their goal of taking down their enemies. To him the claw of Cerveras is his true family, a family that accepted him after years of being denied one.

Finally got to sharing this guy. As I said some decisions when coming up with his character. When thinking more of Gazira’s story, I wanted to give her a love interest that mirrors that of Lunara and Cerveras. What could be more powerful than marrying an evil king, why not a demigod of sorts.

For some reason Anubis stood out to me as a great candidate to give a son for. Even when coming up with Tharos’ name it’s a play on Thanatos, the god of death in Greek mythology. maybe a small idea for his story conclusion

It just made sense that to give Gazira’s 1st love interest a demigod to mirror her mother Lunara marrying a king. I also gave him a saxophone as a weapon due to it being a cool idea on my take for a musical themed character.

I did as well draw inspiration from the co-protagonist from Devil May Cry Nero. Mainly the personality and story of him fit the mold for him. Thats as well where I got the idea to have Tharos and the protector god of Xaa to have beast forms. By far one of the characters Im most proud of creating and sharing.

Heracles

The protector god of Xaa, known as the god of war. While other gods from other realms would maintain their position as Protector god. He enjoyed his role quite well and befriended many of the gods; one of which is Athena where they quickly became best friends for their shared interests. Due to their friendship, Heracles would become less strict with protecting his realm and enjoying a good sparing secession with her.

Heracles wanted to eventually retire from his duties looked to passing the mantle once a Xaa warrior also known as a Xaan would prove their worth and beat him in combat.

Despite Xaa being a beast realm, Heracles had not found a suitable warrior to be his successor. Naturally Heracles would keep his realm safe under his watchful eye.

He maintains neutral alliances with other realms as long as they don’t interfere with Xaa. Many of his fellow protector gods were well acquainted with, he naturally focused on himself more than the others.

Though he is willing to allow others from other realms travel to Xaa to witness the beast realm in its full glory. Most notably in Xaa there is an annual contest of champions where each of Xaa’s champions from the realm would fight and the winner would be the true champion of Xaa.

Xaa was undefeated for many years as Shao Khan and his forces never won a mortal kombat tournament against Xaa. While Sudra is the main champion of Xaa, other champions were frequently rotated at their prime and often utilized the Kemono; Xaa’s equivalent of the Jinsei.

Compared to other realms, Xaans can use the Kemono after they die to reforge their bodies. This is why they were undefeated in battle. Heracles as well can reforge himself within the Kemono to speed up recovery. Heracles use the Jinsei to awaken their beast forms.

Once in this state Heracles can unleash the true of his inner beast as it increases his strength, durability, and stamina. It takes a great deal of energy and should only be used at a minimum to prevent long term damage.

Though there was a weakness all members from Xaa face, the power of the crystal realm. Illkan had dangerous energy levels that are lethal to those from Xaa. Even powered up artifacts from Illkan such as the sword of Illkan can kill a Xaan within minutes of high exposures to it.

After Shao Khan successfully conquered Illkan, he would target Xaa. Shao Khan gifted his Outworld champions with weapons forged from. Illkan to weaken all of Xaa’s champions. Along with many allies such as the rise of Prince Goro, Reiko and the Khan guard, they overwealmed Xaa and they lost.

During the fall of Xaa, Heracles was blindsided by a traitor of Xaa known as Ammit. She had failed to defeat Heracles and used the opportunity distract him long enough for Shao Khan to make his arrival. She even stole an ancient artifact from Xaa known as the Beast Scimitar.

The Beast Scimitar is a known weapon in Xaa that can wipe out multiple armies in one swift action. Miraculously King Sasquatch retrieved the weapon and was ordered to flee Xaa to protect his son.

Heracles was already weakened as he battled Shao Khan. He was in a weak state that he could not activate his beast form and was killed. Heracles was caught in a state of limbo like countless other gods that were slain by Shao Khan.

Heracles could do nothing more but anticipate the day he would be free to restore Xaa to the realm it once was.

Notes:

Another Protector God to add to the roster, I really like how he turned out. I did a drawing for him a few months back because I wanted to showcase him in a more fitting pose. I wanted to add something different to this god so he can access a beast form.

Also Kemono is Japanese for Beast, it also is more with anthropomorphic characters so it fits perfectly. Thanks Mk Onslaught for naming the Outworld Jinsei the Seikatu.

Figured I start with him and narrow more Xaa characters because I have a few more Xaa characters I’m excited to share.

Heracles was originally the name I went with for my OC King Cerveras, I made a design of what he would have been and he was originally a lion. I decided to go with a panther villain because there are to many lions that are villains in media. So I made Heracles the god of Xaa and King Cerveras became his own character. Anyway here is King Cerveras’s original design king Heracles.
