WORD OF THE DAY
-Karimu
-Karimu is a Swahili adjective which describes a generous person or it's abstract form, which maybe hospitality, generosity etc. -Karimu takes a class prefixes just like any other Swahili adjective.
Mkarimu/Wakarimu(adj) M-WA: A generous person/people.
-karimu when used to describe a person or an animate object takes it's class prefixes from the M-WA. Hence, one must see it as an adjective and not a noun
Example 1 : Mkarimu: A generous/hospitable person
Nimekutana na watu wakarimu wengi duniani hii ila sijamwona mtu mkarimu yeyote kama Mary.
I have met many generous people in this world, but never have I seen any generous person like Mary.
Ukarimu(noun)U-U : Generosity, hospitality, beneficence, charity etc
Ukarimu which is the abstract form takes it's prefix from two classes. That is, it's singular form can be found in the U-U class but takes it's plural form from the N-N class.
Example 2: Ukarimu
Nimrudishie nini Bwana kwa ukarimu wake wote alionitendea Mimi.
What shall give back to the Lord for all his generosity towards me.
