It was a little weird being styled for a cf again. Not that he had never done one before--it had just been a while. Stage stylse and photoshoot styles were different too--the lights weren’t as hot as the stage lights so he could wear a lot more without getting super sweaty. And his hair--they could do more with his hair for photoshoots. Not that they were--he was just in a hat today. A fancier hat than he might usually but still a hat. They were trying a casual angle.
He was excited for the group shoot. Any time spent with Jaemi was a good time, and seeing as he was really struggling, that was something he needed. It had seemed like the shock of his scandal was finally setting in, and he wasn’t coping well. He wasn’t really coping. He was holding it all inside and being eternally self-deprecating, and Jaemi--someone who was usually the opposite of serious--was having none of that. It was good for Hasik. He let the stylists work on him, waiting for Jaemi to be ready too so they could start the shoot.
Brandi could dance. She could sing. She was a good leader. She could keep things tidy if she needed to, and sometimes she could act. But on the list of things she was adequate at, there was a lack of baking. She could not bake. For a first date, it wasn’t something she’d’ve picked on her own. She was prepared for a disaster, and that excited her.
She went over to Dalpo’s apartment on the day picked by the show, and knocked on his door, groceries in tow. She hoped he knew what he was doing at least; she didn’t want to burn his place down.
After his optimistic interview after the concert for MK Matched, and Ginny’s rather pessimistic one, Tae had been warned by many people that maybe things might not go as swimmingly as he expected them to, but that was no problem for Taegun. He always believed the best in people, and that the best would happen, and Ginny didn’t really seem all that bad. Especially recently. So, in an attempt to win her over and get on her good side, Tae went all out, setting up a tent in the greenspace by the apartment building where he and Jewoo shared a flat. He was set too, bringing bags of food and tons of blankets. Fire wasn’t allowed, but he had a mini heater that was up and running. If it crashed and burned, it wasn’t from lack of effort. And, despite everything, Tae knew he at least would have a good time.
With the premiere rapidly approaching, the producers have created another task for the Matched couples: solo dates! Each date has been pre-selected; for more information, click here.
In the entertainment business, there are constantly rumors circulating about couples that may or may not exist, and couples that fans would love to see become real. The producers here at MK Entertainment have decided that, instead of constantly hiding from the media, the company will start to use it to our advantage, and to do so, we’ve created a brand new reality show called MK Matched. Fans will have the chance to put their favorite couples to the test during this show’s run.
For this show, eight couples have been paired up based on the following three things: fan votes, staff votes and the rumor mill. It will give our idols a chance to be seen in a different light than they typically are, which will expand their fan base, but it will also help any idols to repair their reputations that have been tarnished by any previous scandals or to create new ones altogether. Two staff members will host the show as well. The couples will be announced through surprise performances at the Spirit Of MK Showcase on October 31st and the hosts will be MCs for those stages.
MK Matched will be aired in hour-long episodes every Monday night, starting with a special, two hour premiere episode on November 9th at 9PM KST. In each epsiode, the couples will have a new challenge to complete; sometimes by themselves and sometimes with another couple or as an entire group, and the co-hosts will present each task and occasionally judge them if the specific task calls for it. By the end of this show, we hope to satisfy the fans and build new friendships between idols.
the basics
All the matches, in addition to the co-hosts, have been pre-selected by us for planning purposes. The characters involved are all over the age of twenty and have been debuted for at least a year, with the exception of Haeil (due to the fact that the company wants to create a reputation for him as a way to promote Wonderland). As mentioned above and in the announcement for the Spirit Of MK Showcase, each couple will have a special duet to reveal the show’s line up of stars. This includes being kept a secret from the characters until the time of performances, and more details about that, along with the list of couples, can be found in the previous post here.
the tasks
This show will be a long running chain of tasks and potentially events. A new task will be presented every week or two, but there will be at least two tasks a month. They will be a mix of solo tasks, couples tasks, and group tasks, depending on each specific challenge. In order to get everyone involved, there will be chances for other characters not on the show to participate in at least one task per month. The tag for all things related to the show will be mkmatched, though tasks will be posted in the prodtask tag as well.
THE FIRST TASK
During the Spirit Of MK event, write a self-para with your character being asked about: 1) the show concept, 2) why they signed on, 3) the reveal of their partner and the surprise performance, and 4) their thoughts on all the couples, including their own. There is no minimum length, though we’d like it to be at least a few paragraphs long so it covers all the points of the interview. This task is, of course, only for the couples, though if there is enough interest, it can be tweaked to include the rest of the characters, as well.
