Written by Sis. Seliat Davies @abbydav27 Often, we assume people, especially those dear to us, know what to tell us, how to treat us and how to deal with us. We expect them to do us right and what's right with us; how, when and where we want. We believe they know when we hurt but choose to ignore. We assume but we do not ascertain. We do not spell out clearly to these people what we want, who we are, what we've been thru and what we expect. We want them to know these things without being told. People treat us the way we allow them to. We give them permission to choose what they give to us cos we never state things clearly. And just like we assume they know, they assume we should accept whatever is thrown at us. This assumption on both sides brings nothing but chaos in and breakdown of relationships cos there will always be outbursts of emotions that are not expressed but suppressed. We react rather than respond. Do not assume. With anyone you deal, be clear as to who you are, what you and what your expectations are so they are certain as to how to respect you. Do have a wonderful working week. 💞 #MLBpost2017 #motivation #ascertain #words (at Lagos, Nigeria)
