I make sure we have a sit down dinner almost every night, if I cook/delivery/take out, we all sit at the table. We talk about our day, our triumphs and one failures. It may seem "lame" to some but with our schedules it's 30 minutes of uninterrupted family time. Time we actually talk to each other, laugh and reconnect. Tonight our dinner discussion was around MLK, why he has his own holiday and the importance he has on our history. Kingston seemed so intrigued with how the world can be. Curious questions about his friends at school, on his football team and our family friends. He seem to grasp the concept of segregation and racism at an elementary level. Yet he is growing up in a world and area were everyone is so deeply mixed, that people are just people ❤️
