The general rule in My Little Pony is that new ponies are often based off the designs of older ponies, but with the name changed for copyright or marketing reasons. For example, here’s one of the new G5 ponies, Izzy Moonbow

And here’s Buttons from mlp G1, who she is almost identical to

Buttons also had a successor in G4 with as Buttonbelle/Suri Polomare

And G3 had Sew-and-So, the most different out of the “Buttons” family, though it looks like at least the blue hearts in her cutie mark carried over to Izzy

So basically most ponies just have successors instead of new versions of the same character

Ok so i guess the wish thing was only in the pilot and the movie and because the unicorns were too op here Hasbro just reseted their abilitys and now each unicorn just have some kind of ability that would make them not so op and so Fizzy have bubbles and Gusty have... some kind of blow away field or something. Also Buttons is also a unicorn cant she do something?
