Our Celestia and Luna Series

This series describes the fall of Celestia and Luna’s homeland, Vana, a city of alicorns. They were two of the three to survive the attack of the draquonecquii, the other being their personal guard, Pierced Dawn. Pierced became a mother to them then.

Pierced Dawn was very protective, even though the first creature they ran into on the ground was a puny, skinny unicorn.

Celestia raised the sun for the first time.

The two sisters became the rulers of Equestria and Pierced Dawn headed the army/soldiers. Luna is beginning to feel the pull of the Tantabus and feeling left in the shadows.

Luna began to feel the Tantabus take hold of her and fell to its will in certain situations. Celestia ignored the signs.

Finally, the nail in the coffin for Luna was Pierced Dawn’s death. Dawn was very much a mother to them and Celestia was older than Luna and found herself not needing Dawn as half as much as Luna did. Luna gave over fully to the Tantabus after Dawn’s death.

Finally, the battle to end all battles happened and Celestia’s baby sister was sent to the moon.

This kinda started out as a sketch and became a stress reliever drawing for me but I finished it oops. So it’s been in my folder for a couple of days and when I finished some uni stuff or got Home from work I sar down and drew this But now it’s finished I might as well show you guys.

So if you didn’t know I adore My Little Pony and I watched the original with Lickety-Split, North Star and Spike! If you don’t know them they are considered G1 ponies, I’m not even old it’s just what I watched it as a kid and adored it. My boi the smooze was a favourite.

But I do love the new MLP and I was so sad to see it end. My favourite character was probably Cadence she was very pretty and nice! And the Canterlot wedding is a classic episode. But I must admit I do adore Thorax and Yona. I love them all actually I can’t sit here and pick favs!

Anyway I wanted to draw some human MLP characters just cause I’ve seen versions and I wanted to do my own. I see a lot of people making her very pale but I think she would have sun-kissed skin! Luna would probably be very pale. I do like to think the horn and wings are real as well, but the horn may channel magic but I imagine her wings are small and stiff from not using them. But hey it’s magical in some way.

The design of her outfit came from several places: Rome was the inspiration for Canterlot so I drew the white sleeves and cape from that. The sun imagery is self explanatory, the purple jewellery is references to the purple gems she has her crown and necklace(?), the circular designs are inspired from Apollo tattoos in Kamigami No Asobi. Also the little bit of fire in her hands is how I imagine her magic is orange and warm.

Anyway I want to do all the princesses! So Luna, Cadence, Twilight and technically Flurry Heart.
