Professor Nigel Shroud (also known as N. Shroud "enshroud") is a dark and mysterious mad scientist and evil warlock who is bent on world domination and plunge both Equestria and the Human World into eternal darkness. He is the central antagonist of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series and main antagonist of My Little Pony: Age of Equestria 3: Shrouded Darkness. He is an extremely powerful and dangerous dark sorcerer who dreams of conquering both Equestria and the human world making them into his Dark Empire. He is the archenemy of Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer, Princess Celestia, Megan Williams, and Violet Harmony. He is the mastermind for turning Sunset Shimmer evil and freed Tirek in Tartarus. Shroud is a dangerously cruel, ruthless, dark, evil, power-hungry, sinister, charismatic, mysterious, ambitious, powerful, megalomaniacal, brutal, tyrannical, sadistic, deceitful, determined, masterful, intelligent, destructive, cold-hearted, sociopathic, malevolent, foreshadowing, fearsome, and manipulative evil scientist and warlock who warps things to his way in the end whenever he is making deals, alliances, and formulating plans to conquer both Equestria and the human world as its supreme and absolute ruler. He seems to be mainly interested in increasing his power and spreading darkness. He is also polite and acts like a gentleman, and he greets anyone by bowing to them politely. He was capable of politeness for convince people and creatures to follow him in his plan, as seen with the Dazzlings and the Diamond Dogs. Other than that, he regularly checked up on other villains and supported them in their schemes or yearning for revenge, albeit later on with the ulterior motive they do the dirty work for him. Even then, this becomes overshadowed by his sadistic way of doing so and lack of remorse for his evil deeds. N. Shroud is also very patient, as he waited for centuries, planning for his revenge. He is extremely vengeful, bitter, arrogant, oppressive, and is driven by pure hatred towards humans for abusing and laughing at him, and ponies for rejecting him with a deep grudge and resentment. However, he must present himself as a normal person or disguise himself as a pony to avoid detection or suspicion. He proves that he is more than willing to beat up or murder people who aren't his enemies if they cross him. He despise ponies the most who dare to defy him, tolerating only his own. He is also has intense anger and frustration when losing his temper and patience. He is extremely wrathful and threats villains, creatures, his minions, and anyone using fear and intimidation in order getting some respect, even punishing or killing them. Even Queen Chrysalis, Tirek, Cozy Glow, King Sombra, Discord, the Dazzlings, and the Diamonds Dogs fears him. He can be merciful sometimes sparing their lives when they severely begging him for mercy and learned their lesson. However, he doesn’t tolerate betrayals and he will mercilessly tortures, kills, or cast curses on anyone who dares turn against him. However, he is not above intimidating those whom he hires to do his bidding as seen by him frightening the Dazzlings with his surprisingly scary, psychotic evil face and warning them not to double cross him. An important subject to note is that, unlike the other villains of the show, N. Shroud is extremely serious, menacing, dangerous, psychopathic, and a pure evil monster. He frequently refers to ponies as "worthless mules" and other insults generally directed at ponies. He is one of the most malicious, sadistic, and dangerous villains in the show, often attempting to kill, control, or otherwise torment ponies, humans, and other creatures. He enjoys causing fear and despair, perhaps even more so than his fellow villains. He also likes anything that is despicable. He is willing to deprive innocent creatures of their free will to get them to work for him, he is willing to turn formerly beautiful communities into severely polluted wastelands, and he doesn't show any remorse for any of his actions. He imprison, punishes, tortures, or kills anyone if they don't obey him. N. Shroud is also shown to be incredibly sagacious and perceptive, considering the fact that when Discord disguised himself as Princess Celestia in an attempt to trick him, he quickly discovered that it was a trick after seeing through Discord's bad acting. He is also very cautious and aware suspicions knowing some of his villain allies would betray him attempting to turn against him and he is always prepared to turned against them as well. N. Shroud is very cunning and intelligent. He is perceptive enough to be able to seamlessly blend in as a normal person and he even started his own company in the human world. He can hide his evil side and put on a friendly facade if necessary. He is also a fast learner, able to learn all kinds of dark magic, studying, and training himself for 500 years without resting. When N. Shroud is closer to finishing his plans, he constantly becomes even crazier while giving sadistic crazed smiles, and later invades Twilight's dream to sadistically taunt her that friendship will fall and all of Equestria will be his. N. Shroud is also shown to not only understand right and wrong, but loves being evil and takes delight in so. For example, he doesn't deny it when people call him a villain, evil or insane, and views certain good traits, like compassion, as a weakness, and taunts Violet Harmony over it. N. Shroud plays extremely sadistic mind games with Sunset Shimmer, when he has lured him to his lair, he cruelly taunted her over her selfish ego and mocked her over Princess Celestia never accepting her as crowned princess. It should be noted that unlike other villains from the My Little Pony franchise, who had some level of morality and redeeming qualities, N. Shroud's actions were taken seriously and has no redeeming qualities. He also shows no morality and was willing to kill anyone without hesitation or remorse. He seems to show some slight respect to his enemies such as when he says he is impressed that Violet Harmony and her friends made it into his throne room. However, he does still have a lighter side, attending villain parties and events, and when in a good mood. And he also shown that he has a comical side and with a sense of humor. Although, he was once a nice, kind-hearted person. But then, when he was a little child, he accidentally enter the portal to Equestria. He was very curious and obsessed of Equestria, ponies, and Equestrian Magic. He then developed a excessive in the unknown. He was just an excited little kid dreaming about the new discovery. However, no one believed him when he told them about the magic world he went, they all call him a crazy liar and started laughing at him. It broke N. Shroud's heart. Due to his painful past, he slowly became twisted by his anger and left his hometown after believing they were mocking him, turning him very cruel, wrathful, sadistic, intelligent, and cold-hearted. Despite his opposing personality, N. Shroud has rarely shown emotions other than anger or hatred. However, it should be noted that, despite N. Shroud's evil nature, he has shown that he has a soft side of him; that he cares for his robots like Nano, Nobo, Guno, Muno, and Susan. Although, N. Shroud sees Nobo as his primary punching bag for being so sarcastic and lazy. He treats his robot daughters Guno and Muno with great care and kindness, even going as far as to act as a parental figure to the young robots. Despite his evil personality, he seems to show his soft side around children such as he politely ask Nezia for directions. History: 500 years ago, after Princess Celestia sealed Nightmare Moon, in the 19th century, when he was little boy, he was a lonely orphan who was abandoned by his mother when he was an infant and was discovered by the orphanage's owner. Because of his inventing hobby, Nigel Shroud get's bullied and abused horribly by his roommates. But all things when he discovered a portal that leads to Equestria behind the waterfall. He was very obsessive and curious of Equestria, ponies, and Equestrian Magic. He then developed a excessive in the unknown. However, he couldn't prove their existence and once he saw it, no one believed him when he told them about the magic world he went, they all laughed at him thinking he’s a crazy liar. His life has gotten worse when rumors spreads and everyone on his town laugh at him. Being laughed at and treated cruelly all of his life, he has grown a deep hatred of all humanity. Thus he decided to abandoned his life in the human world and decided living in Equestria instead. However, without a home, he has no where to live except living a cardboard box in the Canterlot ally. However, he was found by Princess Celestia and took him in her castle and raised him as her son, showered him with love, and taught him the ways of Equestrian Magic. Few years passed, Nigel later became so obsessed of the ponies’ magic, that he has thought a plan to use them to get his revenge on those who wronged him. Later, Nigel abducts 12 ponies and tried experimenting on them and harnessing their magic to attain for himself. However, Princess Celestia found out his evil plan and arrested him for his crimes. He was on trial for his crimes of kidnapping ponies and try to drain their magic. Nigel tries to apologize Princess Celestia for his actions, but Celestia refuses, for she has seen his greed and hatred in his heart. Celestia sentence Nigel Shroud exiled, return to his world and never come Equestria ever again. But, Nigel swore revenge, someday he would return, and won't rest until all of Equestria and the Human World would be his. As the years progressed, he began to build an army of robots and transformed himself into a robot. Apparently all these years been exiled from Equestria, driven him into a deep-seeded hatred for humans and ponies and love of technology and darkness. He has started studying dark magic and training himself to become stronger without any rest for years. This has lead him to adopt the philosophy that technology and darkness is the only thing that can be trusted. He modified himself so that he could rule whatever remained as their dark emperor. Utterly convinced with his twisted belief that the results of a world conquest orchestrated by him would make the world a better place and benefit all its inhabitants. Using his unmatched dark genius, N. Shroud began his plans, spending his entire life on his self-righteous mission. After studying dark magic and combat training for 500 years, he has become the most powerful warlock in the world.
