I have renamed this shelf the Tail Tower, and 5 of its 7 floors are now occupied by the Equestrian Embassy to my bedroom. Eventually, all seven floors will be filled only with Pony stuff, and we're almost there. I'm not sure about the bottom shelf. It's a dust magnet. I might just stow some ballast there.
I've recently acquired a Pink Princess C minus packaging and accessories, but otherwise, in good condition, she still talks and responded well to cleaning and brushing. My new talking Twilight also talks and responded to cleaning, but she lacked packaging and accessories, and her hair is also a little frazzled and a bit faded.
The lunch box is a novel design and filled with some interesting accessories. I'm not sure if it was a con prize or giveaway or if they were sold with lanyards and posters and trading cards. The temp tattoos were missing. The design is interesting, but all the ponies except Fluttershy seem concerned about something. I can't help thinking there's a story behind this lunchbox and its design.
I have an okay Gen 5 collection. I just took a pass on a brand new Opaline Arcana at an outlet store because even a used, non mint Princess C is a better specimen to have, if you didn't already.
No more Gen 5 stuff. I am cutting it off here.
The highlight is my Zipp Storm that I bought new. Sunny, Izzy, Pipp, Misty, Queen H and Jazz were all new.
Dancing Butterflies is a Gen 1 Twice As Fancy Pony. Her whole body is covered in a cutie mark pattern. She came in a plastic bag. So, there is no packaging, but all accessories were present and she's in near mint condition. I am thinking she's gonna be my only Gen 1 pony, certainly my only Gen 1 non-mint.
I found that rather faded Bon Bon at an antique store.
Not Pictured: I have a Gen 4 Rainbow Dash Plushie. Not in mint but in decent shape, I'd say. I am not into plushies anyway, and they are a pain to display.
Going foward, I plan to be chasing after some Gen 4 Funko specimens, god help me.
My criteria are: Mint or near mint only, all original packaging, stickers and accessories present and intact. There's only a couple Pops I actually want, I am mainly after the Vinyl figurines, and I already know those are gonna be ridiculously expensive.
I plan to not fucking miss out on Gen 6, whatever that ends up being. So that's when I'll start really blowing money in earnest. If Gen 6 is something I can stand to look at.
As for building up a modest Gen 4 collection. I want to be conservative and discerning. I might go after some Hasbro mints or near mints if the packaging is in near perfect shape, but again, that's not gonna be cheap or happen quickly.
All this assumes that:
1.) I live long enough.
2.) That I don't end up living in a ditch or a garbage can, just like good ole Oscar.
3.) That I'm not eating dog food soon.
So these are some things we'll have to wait and see about.
I just don't want any pony to think that I'm the type of brony (or whatever kind of mlp fan I am) that is so into the show, that he has no interest in the toy line whatsoever.
It's not true, but I have space limitations, and mlp isn't my only interest. I have to keep many different ballz from getting out of hand.
