mmeadows - Light Moves Around You
the debut album by this duo, Light Moves Around You plays on the instantly recognisable ethereal pop sound, but puts this subtle but serious twist on it. the lyrics here are a stand-out - profound messages are laced into these tracks, with beautiful imagery that'll move you. this is a great album, and i'd highly recommend it!

It’s all ‘A Matter of Perspective’ in mmeadows’ latest clip, a visually stunning display set against a lush, agricultural backdrop as vocalist Kristin Slipp bluntly states: ‘The shit that you weave/Is the shit that you reap/Let me tell you,’ while producer Cole Kamen-Green tends to an adorable menagerie of animals.
As the NY duo says about the track via press release:
‘While we’re obsessing over minutiae, drowning in noise, we miss the big, ugly picture. If we shift our frame of reference, zoom out a bit, we invite the clarity we need to do important work - emotional, political, environmental. Objectivity can reveal to us that we’re not alone, and in that we may find a little levity, a little peace.’

mmeadows pledge their love and devotion on the serene ‘I’ll Never Let You Go.’
The duo (consisting of Kristin Slipp of the Dirty Projectors and Cole Kamen- Green, who worked on Beyonce’s 2013 self-titled album and her 2011 record, Four) work restlessly through willowy, ocean-like synths and pulsing drum loops as Slipp achingly pleads: ‘I’m never gonna let you go/Take a chance/Set me free/Light the fire/I wanna be with you,’ the video a stark representation of their heartache as the two find themselves entangled in the ties that bind.
