I walk slowly around campus
I smile
Lightly
Not too much
Just enough
Your teeth aren’t white enough
At men and women passing by
Don’t want to seem like a bitch to women
Maybe they have boyfriends
Maybe they have lovers
Maybe they have safety
A walk around the bend of McHugh
Male stranger smiles and looks at my ass
Didn’t know it was good enough
And gives a light slap
Not loud enough for others to care
I keep walking
Shoot back a smile
Lightly
Not too much
And smile at the next man walking by
Through my eyes that it’s okay
I just don’t want to die
