In light of the news (dot hack news in 2026), here are some of my MMO OCs that is for a plot inspired by dot hack. C:

#my characters #mmofail #alpha dude my dearly beloved loserman in game and irl but hes so loved by most people in the guild #that he is only in bc of his ex girlfriend (and best friend! he loves her so much but platonic!)#alpha is the one in every interaction then theres gamma (the guy irl but everyone thinks shes a she) and beta (girl irl)#everyone knows beta is a girl with a male character and shes just like super duper into pvp #so betas horns are (when colored properly) are black with red tips as like a bloodstained high ranking pvp headgear #and for the record the guild is just actually all greek alphabet letters even if unintentional #like the ETA that Beta mentions is ETA 1400 bc he always logs in at 2pm #beta is beta burst and alpha is alpha_dude (underscore is important bc he hates it)#gamma is gamma-chan and then the ex-gf bff is omega rising

His name online is Mister Delta (and he’s played by a guy who teaches chemistry irl and his last name is Change so he thought it was a cute little jokey username what a nerd).

#mmofail #he is really quite book smart and good at thinking outside the box when it comes to kids but #my guy is just so dense and oblivious to how to interact with people his own age #in the guild he befriends a guy who very obviously to everyone but him has a crush on him #and together the two men look out for a girl who is pretty young and delta is like OH FUCK YEAH MY CALLING IM TAKING CARE OF KIDS #he really wants everyone to feel safe and he is a good listener to the girl in the guild and she respects him more than he knows #but shes really blunt over text and half the time hes like no no you cannot say that to people thats rude you have to be nicer #youre very right but please be more polite both online and offline you gotta be nice to people

#my characters #mmofail #since i dont draw them much but i love them a lot (this is me about all 800+ ocs oops)#the top are alpha_dude (underscore is important cause he hates it) and Gamma-chan #bottom is ETA 1400 and Beta Burst #now alpha is one of my favorite lil guys tbh because he is so easily persuaded to do things he is such a pushover #and the longest he knew vague peace was when he refused to make an mmo account to play with his ex gf and also best friend (he loves her sm #and so she uses her spare key to enter while he is at work to make an account and makes him the gaudiest annoying to look at character #and names him alpha_dude and he just gets home and immediately notices a sticky note on his computer #and then hes like she fuckin bought me a copy of the mmo AND made a character im going to have to log in one (1) time to say stop #and then he doesnt stop bc its a decent time killer for him since his best friend is always on and its easier than waiting for her to reply #to a text message if they both just chat in game and he finds out months later #she thought he would actually make his own character instead of using that abysmal creation and hes like WHATST #and gamma is just a cute lil girl (in game) named after a passed away cat by her owner (a guy irl)#and so it was like an in honor of her type thing #and then alpha recruits gamma to the guild bc his guild owner (best friend) will be so pleased #and so the two keep getting closer and gamma doesnt really know when to bring up the I Am A Guy IRL thing #cause too much time has passed RIP #then ETA and Beta are employee / manager in a convenience store and ETA works overnight shifts so he logs in around 2pm before #he has to go into work and its actually just accidental that he joins the same guild as his manager #they find out p fast its them and his reaction is just #boss i have one question and is this compensating for your height irl #and beta is very openly a girl IRL and not hiding it like gamma #so everyone knows hes a she and also knows beta is high ranking pvp #but now theres this weird lil cleric following beta around calling her boss and no one wants to dig into that and unpack it #but really its just they work together and its how he avoids using her name irl #and she thinks its really funny to be called boss in game and irl by this weird awkward guy so hey why not #alpha is one of my favorite characters to put through a mental crisis though and buddies #i am fucking having a merry crisis of my own and it sucks (so i guess thats why i wanted to draw him)#happy holidays to whatever you may celebrate hope your mental health is better than mine o7

#my characters #mmofail #the only game ive actually played recently is .... dot hack gu ?#and that made me miss my funny lil fake mmo ocs #so here is alpha and beta from the alphabet guild started by alphas ex gf (who is also his best friend forever)#and... today just really didnt have to happen tbh! got some v upsetting news about an uncle i wasnt close to #but its definitely still A Lot to take in on my mental and physical exhaustion which only exhausted me more #so i had to cope with a brighter drawing as i tend to do so i dont dwell on depressing thoughts #so take my brightly colored losers while i go offline for a while

#my characters #mmofail #HIS name is Beta Burst but he is played by a woman named Haley #and shes chill correcting people that hes a she irl but also just doesnt mind which pronouns people use online #irl though shes a she/her through and through #also she tells one of her employees at work (shes a manager at a convenience store) to get a hobby or find a fun online game #cause he always looks super tired and he tells her he doesnt wanna socialize out of work in person people are tiring #and then hes like hmmmm a hobby or game hmmm #and then he gets the same game and goes on the same server and lets his sister design his character #while he naps then he just picks a name and chooses ETA 1400 bc he works overnight and if he logs in #he plans to log in at like 2pm so why not make that his name #however there is a guild owner who wants to collect all the greek letters (her own name in game is Omega Rising)#so she makes the executive decision to include eta 1400 and when he and beta are talking one day in game #hes like oh yeah im just playing cause my boss at work told me i needed a hobby #and beta is like oh shit thats me im the boss who told him he needs a hobby #so eta starts calling beta boss in game just like he calls her irl #and its just a nice lil friendship and shes happy when eta starts to make friends in the guild #he still has a lost lil puppy like following vibe when hes around boss but eta does do some growing socially #mostly with betas friends in the guild which are: a guy with no backbone and a guy playing a girl who doesnt tell anyone shes a he #anyway thank you thats my oc essay tags and i love beta and shes just really funny to me #bc she just is there to vibe and play pvp #which the horn lore is those are high ranking pvp rewards for heavy blade users #and when eta finds out the pvp reward for a healer is a bloodied crown #hes like please please please help me learn pvp that sounds really cool ill do my best boss

Mister Delta - a mage in game who really enjoys PvP and is a high ranker. He's a teacher irl and his last name is Change so he made a stupid chemistry joke for a username.

Lord Kappa - wanted to be King Kappa but it was taken so he's just vibing with a different honorific. Is a chef irl. Has a very big crush on Delta.

Little Lambda - the actual teenager (like baby teen, 13/14 or something) who doesn't really have friends in school. Mostly interacts with her dad irl who calls her "little lamb" and when she realized it was taken online, she googled "words that start with lamb" and went with lambda with no further research. Has zero online etiquette but she's working on it..... kinda.

(her apology was "I'm sorry that you're gay and didn't want people to know" and so Kappa was like "great thank you for this apology." and now he's like WELP my crush knows I'm gay now but we're online so it's fine and nothing will come from this and it's fine)

#my characters #mmofail #delta is such a funny character to me cause hes getting dunked on constantly by the others in the guild that are adults #and hes like dude trust me high schoolers dunking on you is way worse #then he and kappa find out lambda is an actual child and both are like we have to look after her #the online world is a scary place lets protect her #and then lambda doesnt MEAN TO but is constantly insulting and picking on kappa #but really kappa doesnt hold it against her bc she does actually sound a bit guilty when apologizing #so its not like shes being forced to and doesnt wanna! its just she doesnt know how #and hes willing to be the one that gets slammed by a kid online if shes willing to learn and she is! just slowly

#mmofail #these are my babies i love them #the only problem with streaming him and needing a ref is like ..... 95% of the art i draw of him #is accompanied by an innuendo said by him and like cool bud thanks for being Like That #these are online characters for fictional characters lmao uhhhh #CHLOECHE is the green haired lady and she has a facial model with the closed eyes #and also she logs in every day to change her headgear slot #no one wants to ask her how she has that much headgear and she never tells so teehee #then Luck is the guy and a guild leader and he is... quite infamous online #like the server hes on knows him v well and forums talk about him sometimes and how weird he is #bc literally everything he says is an innuendo online #he thinks its hilarious and it drives another guildmate insane so its even better!#theyre in love and meet up irl when they can #in the end they get married its just cute ok #she tolerates him like no one else and she finds him so adorable #he is without a doubt 100% smitten with her and loves her so much ahhhh

And also CHLOECHE and Luck from my made up mmo! Luck (guy) is the guild master that CHLOECHE (gal) is the assistant guild master of. And they troll one of their other guild members constantly. The end.
