To say Severus Snape was surprised by the OWL from Sirius, asking to meet no less, was an understatement. While they were on...better...terms than previously, the Slytherin expected to see the other in passing or on Order missions more than anything else. Promptly, Snape responded to the unexpected letter, telling the Gryffindor to meet him in The Forbidden Forest, giving less of an opportunity to be spotted by others.

Not that Severus was overly concerned about students, but more so the staff - and it was safer than Wizarding London where Rita Skeeter’s ‘little bugs’ wouldn’t be able to spot them so easily. After all, to most who remembered, the Slytherin and Gryffindor weren’t exactly mates. And while Snape still spoke with Dumbledore, he’d rather not talk with the Headmaster about this new development until Snape had more information under his belt.

As such, the potions assistant made his way to the forest after classes, keeping vials and herb shears on hand in case Slughorn‘s students happened to catch him along the edge or near the greenhouses. Waiting for Sirius, Snape took a breath, finally letting himself ponder what this could be concerning.

Rosie hovered unsure at the entryway. She could smell the stench of iron from where she stood. She bit down harshly on her lip and pushed the door open wide. The room seemed to shiver as she entered it. Something truly awful had occurred here.

Most of the blood had dried except the largest puddle in the center of the room. It was the message smeared across the wall that caught her attention again though.

“1 out of 12. Good luck.”

That if nothing else confirmed that this was a sick game. The Being didn’t want anything from them (but their suffering). This wasn’t something they could fix or negotiate their way out of. Rosie desperately needed to talk to the girl who had died here, the one in her dream, the angel girl. She had to know something, anything.

“Hello?” She whispered. “I need to talk to you? About the thing that killed you?” Silence, unadulterated, thick. A flicker. A name. A smirk held together by sheer willpower. A knife piercing the skin of her back. An angel again.

The creaking of the door behind her pulled her slowly out of it. She stared unseeingly at the girl in the doorway for a moment still puzzled about the angel. Outloud, she questioned, "Why do I keep seeing angel wings? I don't understand. Was that her costume for the party? Is it symbolic. Is she saying the Being is the angel of death?"

It had been a long night, Johnny had not slept at all. When the blonde got no sleep he was always very irritable. But who wasn’t. As the sunlight taunted the boy thought the windows he sighed. If there was one thing in the world he wanted it was to be at his house. And that said a lot coming from Johnny as he was currently couch hopping from teammate to teammate. Not once since he’s been in the house has food crossed his mind until now.

Johnny wasn’t much of a cooker but rummaged through the cabinets looking for something. He remained as quiet as he could be in order to not wake the sleeping house guests. At this point anything would do. Johnny was willing to compromise his own beliefs in order to eat.

It still came to surprise the boy that there was nothing to eat. Johnny groaned as his stomach rumbled. The blonde jumped as he saw someone behind him. “Oh it’s just you.” He replied, feeling relieved. “I hope I didn’t wake you.”

kitchen | nov 1st | early afternoon

at this point of the day, jordan was more than exhausted. he’d barely slept the night before and as much as he wanted to sleep during the day, he couldn’t. the sun was too bright, the room was too hot and everyone was starting to move about and be loud. it was hopeless. everything had seemed to go back to normal once the sun rose and everyone was trying to figure out how it was possible to be stuck inside a house. jordan thought back to the night before, remembering the windows that refused to be broken despite him and alec both hitting them with chairs. heavy chairs, too. all of it made no sense but jordan heavily believed in ghosts and spirits keeping them inside and making something around the outside of the house to prevent anyone from leaving. jordan wasn’t really paying much attention to anyone in the room after last night. who knows what they were up to.

he sat up from his spot on the couch slowly, shaking his head as he moved about the mansion to find something to eat. he hadn’t been too worried about that all day as he was trying to piece everything together from the night before. remembering the room from when he saw sully for the first time last night, jordan ran a hand through his hair. that poor guy had gone through so much in the last 24 hours. everyone had. he exhaled, moving to the sink to turn on the water. his glasses had gotten discarded as he slashed some water in his face. the cool helped his body calm down a little as it was in overdrive and deeply exhausted. he turned around when he heard footsteps, almost jumping out of his skin as he saw another person in the room. he shook his head at september as he walked to the fridge, hoping something edible was inside. last night had been insane but jordan couldn’t forget making out with the girl in front of him. everything seemed to go back to normal once the tragic events stopped. finding nothing to eat, he turned to face her, shutting the door behind himself. “i’m sure ordering pizza is out of the question,” he said sarcastically, knowing that if they couldn’t get out, no one else could probably get in.

Grand Foyer || Nov 1 || 11:20 AM

A groan escaped Johnny’s lips as he awoke. The sun peered through the blinds and it seemed all to bright for the blue eyed boy. He closed his eyes so he can fade back into the sleep that once over took him. Little did he know his body wasn’t going to let it happen. Every time he closed his eyes they just opened. Johnny rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, sitting up. Which he wished he never did he was experiencing the worst splitting head ache ever and his stomach was no better. He was taking in his surroundings for the first time. He was still in the estate. This surprised Johnny, as he was assuming someone would have taken his drunk ass home sometime during the night.

The blonde reached into his skirt pocket for his phone to check the time or maybe even a text to see where everyone was. But it was useless, his phone died. Just the thought of searching for his friends in the house made Johnny sick to his stomach. He barely had the energy to move from the ground.

Even with his massive headache Johnny needed to get up. He needed to find his friends so they could leave and possibly tell him what happened last night because he has no memory of anything.

Right as he was about to leave the foyer he looked at the ground seeing blood everywhere. Johnny hoped this was a joke. “Very funny guys.” He shouted, even though he wished he used a softer tone.

Great Room ✗ Nov 1 ✗ 3:18 AM

After Jordan fell asleep, Teryn stayed on the couch beside him and tried to relax. She leaned back against the cushions and took deep breaths in and out. Every little noise made her jump. She couldn’t remember a time when she was more on edge than she was now. Unfortunately, now that everyone was asleep, she had nothing else to focus on other than her own thoughts and feelings. They were the last thing she wanted to focus on. She couldn’t figure them out. Every thought was tangled up together with the others like Apple earphone strings.

The dark bruises that the vines had made when they’d wrapped around her legs earlier were throbbing. Her thickly striped tights might have covered them from being seen by anyone else, but she could sure as hell feel them. If she didn’t know better, she might have believed they were still wrapped around her legs now. The pain and the worry and the guilt of the evening had started to stir up and excite the voices in her own head. She could hear them faintly, starting to gnaw at her ear drums with their suggestions and their comments. She had no noise to drown them out like she might have usually done with music or television or anything else to access. Instead, she just had to sit and try to will them away while she reclined with her eyes half closed in the darkness.

Third Floor Hallway ✗ Nov 1 ✗ 12:15 AM

Teryn had made her way up to the third floor. She had wandered up there after she and Jordan agreed to split up. They said they’d meet up in an hour or so and share what they’d found. In reality, she was just looking forward to some time to herself. Her interaction earlier with the Entity still roaming around the house was in the back of her mind but she tried not to let it stop her from looking around. She had just left the nursery when the lights went out. Her heart stopped and her stomach dropped.

“No,” She whispered quietly to herself. In fear of seeing something in the darkness, she shut her eyes as tightly as she could. One would think that she’d want the chance to see any kind of paranormal phenomenon that might reveal itself while the lights were out, but she was less worried about recording and reporting her findings than she was staying alive at this point, “Hello?” She called out, waiting a moment to see if the Entity would reply to her. It could have just been the third floor lights it cut out, wanting to mess with her again.

She could have started crying when she heard the slamming of the main doors, muffled from downstairs but still loud enough to be heard on the third floor. Teryn felt regret filling her stomach. She should have warned someone about the Entity. She should have at least tried. Maybe Jordan wouldn’t have believed her, but he’d been interested enough in the house’s history that maybe the bruises it left on her leg would have convinced him. Either way, it was too late for that now.

The lights switched back on and she wanted to run, but she couldn’t seem to pick her feet up off the ground. Her fear had immobilized her. Her face was pale and she had to lean against one of the walls to steady herself. For a minute, she thought she might actually vomit. It took her a minute before she could contain the sickness in her stomach and could call out again.

“Hello?” Her voice was louder but shakier now, “Is anyone up here?" She needed to get downstairs. Being up here alone wasn’t safe and she knew that. “Jordan?” She clenched her jaw. He'd been on the second floor with her. Maybe he’d had the same idea she did and he’d come up here as well.

“Did you do this? It has to be you.. Please,” She pleased, “Don’t do this,” She whispered at a volume she knew the Entity would be able to hear, even if no one else could. There was no way of knowing what exactly ‘this’ would be, but it couldn’t be good.

Normally, Ember would be upset that Johnny had managed to get lost while drunk, but in this place she wasn’t entirely surprised. It was notorious for being hard to navigate on the upper floors, many hallways, doors and staircases leading to nowhere. Looking down at her phone as she waited for him to text again, she sipped at her whiskey, and made her way from room to room on the main floor before deciding she’d tell him to come to her in the Billiards.

There was still hardly anyone here, and while that was more worrying than Johnny’s lack of appearance, she wasn’t about to get really worried just yet. It was still early, not even ten o’clock, and there was still plenty of time for people to show up. The only reason people wouldn’t show up was out of fear or not getting the word about the party, and then it wouldn’t be her fault. She’d used the school’s directory to send out the invitation, and if people didn’t get it, then it was their lost. Still she was bored and he was taking his time.

The moment she spotted a mop of blond hair, she’d been about to snap at them to find somewhere else, until she realized who it was. “Oh. My. Fucking. God. What are you wearing?! Is that my uniform?!” He’d stretched it out to the brim, and he looked ridiculous, her annoyance instantly forgotten as she lost herself to laughter. “You look... Oh god.. you look so hot.”
