Tast 2 - Writing Challenge

Under the read more you will find a list of subjects and we want you to write a para inspired by one them. What you write is completely up to you and also so is what subject you chose. We are wanting you to be creative with this task so as long as it ties in with the subject you can do whatever you like and we look forward to reading everything!

You will have till the 27th to complete this task. So take your time in being as creative as possible.

Character name-: Jackson Nott

Age-: 18

Appearance-: tall, brown hair, brown, slim built but still muscular

What is this characters greatest flaw. How closed off he is. He likes to keep his true feelings close to his chest and he acts differently around everyone.

What do you know about this character that s/he wouldn’t admit? He is actually terrified about what is going to happen when he is fully involved with the war.

What is this characters greatest asset? How cunning he is.

If this character could choose a different identity who would s/he be? In some ways he wishes he could be Sirius. There are times when he is jealous of him and wishes he could know as much as he does about Aly and wishes that he doesn't have the pressure of his families expectations on his shoulders like Sirius doesn't have.

In what or whom does this character have the greatest faith?  Aly.

What music does this character sing to when nobody is around? I can't see Jackson just sitting listening to music. He probably only ever actually listens to it if Aly has some on. Though he would never sing along to it.

What is this characters favourite movie? Since he's a pureblood he's never seen one.

Does this character have a favourite article of clothing? Favourite shoe? He doesn't have a favourite of either of those.

Does this character have a vice? Name it. I SUCK AT THIS QUESTION OKAY I PASS.

Name this character’s favourite person, living or dead. Aly since she is the only one that truly knows who he is.

What is this character’s secret wish? That he was never marked.

What is this characters proudest achievement? That he got a second chance with Aly.

Describe this characters most embarrassing moment. I doubt that he would ever admit to being embarrased. In fact I can see it being very difficult to embarass him. But I'll go with when Aly left him tied up on the bed naked and just left him there. That was hard to explain to the maid.

What is this characters deepest regret? Joining the Death Eaters.

What is this characters greatest fear? Dying.

Describe this characters most devastating moment. Was when he had to lie to Alyssa in order for him to try and let her go. He couldn't get over that for a long time, if he ever in fact did.

What is this characters greatest achievement? I'm not really sure to be honest.

What is this characters greatest hope? That everything will turn out alright eventually and he won't need to balance between being a death eater and being with Alyssa. It is a lot more tiring than he lets on and if he didn't have to do that one day it would make him truly happy.

Does this character have an obsession? Name it. Nope.

What is this characters greatest disappointment? Hurting Aly.

What is this characters worst nightmare? Aly getting hurt because of the choices that he has made.

Whom does this character most wish to please? Why? His father even though he is starting to see the older mans flaws.

Describe this characters mother. Very poised, wel respected, beautiful, holds herself well, quite slim, black haired, warm towards her father and son, loving to her family.

Describe this characters father. Distant, cold, handsome, typical pureblood, strict, emotionless

If s/he had to choose, whom would this character prefer to live with? Himself if he really had to choose.

Where does this character fall in birth order? What effect does this have? He is the only child so he has a lot of responsibilies on his shoulder. He is expected to act in a proper fashion and be respectful and act in a way that would bring pride to the Nott name. He is also expected to carry on the family name and so all sort of other things that if he is honest would rather not do. But he will anyway because that's how he is raised.

Describe this characters siblings or other close relatives. Already described.

Describe this characters bedroom, include three cherished items. It is very neat, not a lot in it. But everything has it's place and keeps it that way. And it could be described as being quite cold as well since there aren't many personal items that he really cherishes. Maybe a few photos but that's it.

What is this characters birth date? How does this character manifest traits of his or her zodiac sign? His birthday is the 23rd of August and we all know that I have no idea what the traits are going to be so meh

If this character had to live in seclusion for six months, what six items would he or she bring? His broom, money, clothes, books, food, shelter, just what everyone else wouls bring.

Why is this character angry? He is angry at the way his life is turning out. He never wanted to have this much responsibility. He had expected the usual family business but he never expected to be as involved with the war as he is. And he's angry that there is absolutely nothing he can do to change it without someone getting hurt.

What calms this character? Being with Aly.

Describe a recurring dream or nightmare this character might have had. That everything is going to fall apart and that people are going to get hurt because of him.

List the choices (not circumstances) that led this character to his or her predicament. The only choice that he's made is the choice to get marked. Though that was more forced on him than anything else really.

List the circumstances over which this character has no control. His life pretty much.

What wakes this character in the middle of the night? The fear that he is going to end up getting Aly hurt, or worse.

How would a stranger describe this character? Cold, distant, uninterested, rude, closed off, stiff.

What does this character resolve to do differently every morning? I just really do not like this question at all because I don't see anyone getting up and deciding outright to do something different or maybe that's just me. But he's just trying hard to get through this war as best he can any way he can. So maybe that.

Who depends on this character? Why? I don't like saying what other characters feel but I kinda think that Aly does purely because she loves him so much.

If this character knew h/she had just one month to live, what would h/she do? He would run away with Aly. He would just up and leave and for once in his life do what he wants without worrying about the consequences of his actions or who he's hurting. He would just be happy in the little amount of time he would have left.

How would a dear friend or relative describe this character? Pretty much the same as a stranger would.

What is this characters most noticeable physical attribute? Going to say his eyes purely for the fact his mark would be too an obvious answer,

What is this character hiding from him/herself? Nothing. He hides things from others not himself. He is well aware of what is going on in his head and around him. But it's other people he hides from.

Write one additional thing about this character? He is starting to resent his father. When he was younger he used to look up to him as a hero of sorts and wish he was just like him. But now he is starting to see the dark side to his father and he doesn't like it .And what makes it worse is that he is becoming exactly like his father. And he hates him for it.

Age-: 17

Appearance-: medium height, long slightly curly hair, blonde, slim but still curvy, green eyes.

What do you know about this character now that s/he doesn’t know yet? I know that she writes a book on cheese for a start though I'm trying so hard to forget about that. I also know that she is going to end up just leaving everyone behind and going of on her own somewhere quiet that isn't effected by the war. She wants nothing to do with it at all and she will leave with no one if she has to. I also know what's going to happen with her father but if I say that here then that gives it away doesn't it XD

What is this characters greatest flaw. Maybe that she trusts too easily? In the past everyone she has trusted has just left without a word, or used her in a sense. So her kind heart is pretty much her downfall. She needs to develop a thicker skin.

What do you know about this character that s/he wouldn’t admit? That her sweet little hufflepuff image is more often than not a lie.

What is this characters greatest asset? How kind she is. Though that can be her flaw as well.

If this character could choose a different identity who would s/he be? This is kind of a hard one. I don't think she would want to be anyone else to be honest.

In what or whom does this character have the greatest faith?  Her mother. Her mother is her best friend and she would be completely lost without her.

What music does this character sing to when nobody is around? I can see Greta listening to classical music for some reason. But only when she's at home.

What is this characters favourite movie? Alice In Wonderland because she'd like to be able to have her own Wonderland. She thought that it would be Hogwarts when she first went there but since changed her mind.

Does this character have a favourite article of clothing? Favourite shoe? She doesn't have any close attachment to clothes. But she has a favourite necklace that her grandmother had given her.

Does this character have a vice? Name it. Again I don't know what that means.

Describe this characters most embarrassing moment. In a typical nightmare sort of fashion she had woken up late one morning and rushed to class because there was a class and had forgotten to change out of her nightdress.

What is this characters deepest regret? Cheating on Sturgis. That's something she is never going to be able to forgive herself for.

What is this characters greatest fear? Losing her mother.

Describe this characters most devastating moment. When she learned what her father was really like. For years her mother had lied to her and told her all these nice things about him and lied about why he left. But then she met him on her own and realised that he was nothing like she imagined him to be.

What is this characters greatest achievement? Again becoming the quidditch captain.

What is this characters greatest hope? She hopes that she could maybe get to have a good relationship with her father. But she knows that it's herself that's standing in the way of that but there is something stopping her from being able to let her grudges go and give him another chance.

Does this character have an obsession? Name it. The only thing that she is probably obsessed with is quidditch.

What is this characters greatest disappointment? Hurting Sturgis.

What is this characters worst nightmare? That her mother will get hurt in the war somehow.

Whom does this character most wish to please? Why? Herself really. She just wants to do what she thinks is right.

Describe this characters mother. Pretty, smart, kind hearted, gentle, caring, has a good sense of humour, is basically everything Greta grew up to be.

Describe this characters father. Distant, cold, career focused, proud, strict.

If s/he had to choose, whom would this character prefer to live with? Her mother.

Where does this character fall in birth order? What effect does this have? She is an only child and has often felt quite lonely because of it. She gets jealous of others who have siblings and wonders what it's liketo have someone that would always have your back.

Describe this characters siblings or other close relatives. She doesn't have any siblings. And I've already described her parents so I'm not really going to do it again.

Describe this characters bedroom, include three cherished items. She only has a small room with very little in it. There are a few books that are her favourites, a couple of photos in frames that mean the most to her. It's very clean and minimalist. She doesn't really need much. And her cherished item is a photo she has of her when she was a baby with her two parents smiling. It is the only photo that she has that even hints to a happy family. And she keeps it safely locked away like it's her secret. And I can't think of anything else that she would cherish. Like I said she doesn't really have much. So everything is cherished to her.

What is this characters birth date? How does this character manifest traits of his or her zodiac sign? Her birth day is the 4th of February which would make her a, Aquarious. To be honest I don't think that she fits into any of the traits of an aquarious. But then again she wouldn't really believe in any of it so I don't think it matters over all.

If this character had to live in seclusion for six months, what six items would he or she bring? Her broom, money, clothes, books, her cat, and some photo's. That's all she would really need.

Why is this character angry? She is angry at herself. Because she managed to mess everything up. She's angry that she hurt Sturgis and that she wasn't there for him when she should have been which confirmed in her head that over all she really isn't a nice person. And se is angry about the fact she can't let it go and that she dwells on it so much it almost makes her sick. And she is also angry because despite the fact it was with Mundungus that she got herself into this mess with she can't seem to be able to stay away from him either.

What calms this character? Flying. Being up in the air and feeling the wind against her skin makes it easier for her to think and makes it easier for her to see things clearly and ultimitely calms her down.

Describe a recurring dream or nightmare this character might have had. Greta doesn't really sleep that well do she doesn't have that many dreams, or nightmares for that matter. But she often dreams about ending up alone which she has a feeling deep down that that's how her life is going to end up.

List the choices (not circumstances) that led this character to his or her predicament. The choise to cheat on Sturgis is the only thing that I can think of.

List the circumstances over which this character has no control. How people feel about her. She really wishes she could control that because she would change so many different opinions. But she can't. And she hates it because no matter how hard she tries it's not good enough.

What does this character resolve to do differently every morning? She keeps telling herself that she will talk to more people and actually make some new friends. But she can't bring herself to do it.

Who depends on this character? Why? No one. Or at least Greta hightly doubts that there is anyone out there that needs her that much.

If this character knew h/she had just one month to live, what would h/she do? She would spent as much time as possibly with her mother. And she would try her hardest to make up for all the wrong things that she's done.

How would a dear friend or relative describe this character? Quiet, kind, easily hurt, too trusting, quite smart

What is this characters most noticeable physical attribute? Since her hair is blonde and curly and there is a lot of it it would be quite hard to miss it. So her hair.

What is this character hiding from him/herself? That she is lying about her feelings to everyone. She tries to hard to keep things hidden that she has ended up convincing herself that they are true as well. Everyone thinks she is fine when she really isn't. She is hurting and she feels alone but since she doesn't want anyone to worry about her she keeps it to herself. And she's kept it to herself so much she's almost forgotten that's how she really feels.

Write one additional thing about this character? She wants nothing more than just for all of her troubles to just disappear. And she would give anything for that to happen.

Character name-: Remus John Lupin

Age-: 17

Appearance-: Brown hair, brown eyes. Quite handsome to others, but doesn't really see it himself. Has two scars running over his face from the time that Padfoot had to stop him from running towards the castle during a full moon.

Task completion date -: 1st December.

What do you know about this character now that s/he doesn’t know yet? Remus doesn't know yet that Alice will soon find out about him, and that he's the one to tell her the truth, even though he'd never expected that he'd tell her in fear of losing her friendship, which he values more than he lets on.

What is this characters greatest flaw? It's the fact that he lacks self confidence. He's a handsome looking guy, who has great friends, but he believes that he's not worthy of them because he fears they're his friend because they pity him.

What do you know about this character that s/he wouldn’t admit? How deeply in love with Sirius he is. And how much Sirius' actions outside of them being together really effects him. How much it hurts when Sirius claims to not be with him to Alice or James, like that.

What is this characters greatest asset? Remus' greatest asset is the friendship and love he gives other people. It's like everything he puts in his friendships is what he feels like he doesn't deserve himself. He's also a very smart guy, who comes up with great solutions to problems that always seem to be right around the corner for the Marauders.

If this character could choose a different identity who would s/he be? I think Remus would be someone that isn't a werewolf. Because being Moony is what is Remus' greatest fear, he hates being Moony because he can't control it. He knows he'll become that monster one night every month, but he doesn't want to be, he hates it.

In what or whom does this character have the greatest faith? He has faith in his friends. In Dorcas who he's known since he was 2 years old. In Alice who sees all the good in him, no matter what he does. In Sirius, because even with all Sirius' flaws Remus still loves him till no end. In James for asking him to be their friend halfway through their first year. In Peter for being loyal and not asking about things when Remus doesn't have the answer. Remus doesn't have a happy home, not since his mother passed away that night. He isn't as close to James, like Sirius that the Potters took him in, so he's not sure where he will go next Summer, because he doesn't want to go home any more, but he has his friends and they're better than anyone.

What music does this character sing to when nobody is around? Remus likes music, he grew up listening to music such as the Beatles and Cat Stevens, Simon and Garfunkel. They were his mother's favourites and he took her records, listening to them, because than she'd be with him still.

What is this characters favourite movie? Remus doesn't really watch movies. At home they don't have a tv, at Hogwarts there's no reason and no way to watch movies.

Does this character have a favourite article of clothing? Favourite shoe? Remus' favourite article of clothing is the jumper that the Marauders got him last Christmas. It had them all on the front in their animal forms and he loved it more than anything. Plus it was really warm.

Does this character have a vice? Name it. No matter what happens to him, he will never complain about being in pain after a full moon. That is a good thing, but can be a vice when he's badly wounded but he won't let anyone know just how much. This has resulted in several occasions of badly infected wounds.

Name this character’s favourite person, living or dead. For Remus it's definitely his mother. She was only in his life for the first five years, but he misses her more than anything. She made him feel good about himself, made him gain confidence in others and never judged him for anything that he did.

What is this character’s secret wish? His biggest wish is that there will be a cure for lycanthropy. He hates that side of him, he hates being who he is, especially because of what the image of a werewolf means to most others. Remus knows he won't have a job in the future. There's not a company or organisation in the world that would hire him when they find out that he's a wolf once a month.

What is this characters proudest achievement? The greatest achievement that Remus is very proud of, is the fact that he got friends. While growing up he hardly had any friends. He had Dorcas, who lived a town over and who he'd see frequently but lost contact with after his father didn't want him to see her anymore after that night. When he came to Hogwarts and he saw her again it was as if there was never a time apart. But when the Marauders asked him to join them as their fourth friend, Remus was never happier.

Describe this characters most embarrassing moment. His greatest embarrassment came in the form of Sirius Orion Black. One night, Remus was in the shower and he wasn't even sure what he had been doing anymore, but Remus had always been very careful of his friends seeing him and his body. But Sirius walked in without knocking and got a front row seat to seeing all of his scars and wounds. They'd never spoken about that moment again, which Remus was glad about because he wouldn't ever want to know what ran through Sirius' mind that night.

What is this characters deepest regret? His deepest regret is going into the garden that night and running into Greyback. If he hadn't done that then his mother would still be alive, he wouldn't be a werewolf. When you think about that, being Moony is Remus' punishment for murdering his mother.

What is this characters greatest fear? Losing the people he loves. In whatever circumstances that is his greatest fear.

Describe this characters most devastating moment. Watching his mother pass away. Finding out that Sirius had told Snape about the tunnel under the Willow and him almost attacking Snape.

What is this characters greatest achievement? The fact that no matter what his father always told him, that there were still people that loved him, that he did great in school, that he got the grades he worked hard for.

What is this characters greatest hope? That one day there will be a cure for lycanthropy. And that one day he can be free in how he feels about that one certain person.

Does this character have an obsession? Name it. I don't Remus has an obsession.. Maybe finding out that Sirius likes him back but won't tell, and him trying to get Sirius out of his denial?

What is this characters greatest disappointment? Feeling the disappointment on his fathers face whenever he looked at Remus. Not being loved by his father for who he is, but always feeling the blame of what happened that night.

What is this characters worst nightmare? Finding out that his friends are only with him because they pity him, that they're not really there because they want to be his friends, but because they think it's cool to be friends with a werewolf.

Whom does this character most wish to please? Why? In a crazy way, still his father. Remus craves the approval of his father, no matter what Remus is, he's still a 17 year old boy.

Describe this characters mother. Hope adored her little boy, he was her world. Together they'd have the wildest adventures. Not in real life, but also in books and stories they'd make up together. Hope was a beautiful woman, red curls and blue eyes. Tall and lean and so much like Remus in character.

Describe this characters father. Lyall is another story. While he loves his son to death, he's still not forgive Remus for what happened that night. It wasn't his fault and he knows that deep down, but Remus being a werewolf and losing the love of his life has put a strain on his relationship with his son. Lyall looks quite intimidating, a three day beard, dark hair, tall and muscled. In all objects completely different from his son but again so much like him.

If s/he had to choose, whom would this character prefer to live with? His father. But Lyall being the person he is, makes that difficult and painful for Remus to do so.

Where does this character fall in birth order? What effect does this have? Remus is an only child, his mother passed away when he was five, he's the oldest and only heir of the Lupin household.

Describe this characters bedroom, include three cherished items. Remus sleeps in a dark room with no windows. He's locked up there during full moons as well, his father's way of making sure he wouldn't hurt anyone. His cherished items: a picture of his mum, her locket and a book of stories that they'd created together.

What is this characters birth date? How does this character manifest traits of his or her zodiac sign? Remus' birthday is on March 10th. That makes him a Pisces. I have no clue in what way this manifests traits, sorry.

If this character had to live in seclusion for six months, what six items would he or she bring? Books. Remus could live a thousand lives in just reading his books.

Why is this character angry? He's angry for not being able who he wants to be, for people denying things that are true. For people being disgusted as soon as they find out who Remus really is, for disappointing him.

What calms this character? Reading, singing, being around his friends.

Describe a recurring dream or nightmare this character might have had. A dream that always seem to return to him during the nights is the dream, or nightmare rather, about that night. Seeing the look on his mother's face before she passed away. Feeling the pain of Greyback biting him, disappointing his father and hearing his cries. Another one is his friends leaving him, laughing at him for thinking they'd ever love him for who he really is.

List the choices (not circumstances) that led this character to his or her predicament. His choice to tell Sirius about how he really felt about him. His choice to tell his friends about his lycanthropy. His choice to defy his father and reach out for help when things get too much in the house.

List the circumstances over which this character has no control. Remus changing into Moony every full moon. Going through the pain and breaking limbs in the process. The prank gone wrong the year before, the pain it brought with it.

What wakes this character in the middle of the night? The recurring nightmares. His mother's screams. His father's cries.

How would a stranger describe this character? Quiet, a Marauder, Mischievous, Loyal, Helpful, Kind, Sweet, Handsome.

What does this character resolve to do differently every morning? Treating his wounds, or scars when the wounds have healed. Hiding the evidence of his secret persona.

Who depends on this character? Why? Remus thinks no one does. He depends on others, but he's not sure if they depend on him too. He'd like to say his friends and loved ones.

If this character knew h/she had just one month to live, what would h/she do? Live his live to it's fullest. Do the things he'd be too scared about otherwise. Telling the people he loves, that he loves them and that he's still the same person he was before he became the monster that is Moony.

How would a dear friend or relative describe this character? I think they'd describe him as a loyal, kind, sweet, helpful person. Remus is there for others, even though he feels he doesn't deserve it for himself. He would never talk bad about another person, because there's no one worse than Remus himself, in his eyes.

What is this characters most noticeable physical attribute? The scars that run over his face. They're the first thing you see when you look at him.

What is this character hiding from him/herself? The fact that he cares for Sirius more than he lets on.

Write one additional thing about this character? Remus loves life, he loves his friends, he loves his father and other people too. But he'd want nothing more than to be accepted for the person he is and not for the person he feels other people want him to be.
