I wanted to share a story that goes along with this video. One of the funniest things to happen in my career....
When I was working at M&M's World in Las Vegas, I spent a lot of time chatting with children after the show where I played the 'Professor'. (Video above)
One day, a little boy no more than 4 years old attended the show. He got up, afterward, crossed his arms, and tapped his foot staring at the 'machine' I built. I walk over to him, copy his stance, lean down and say,
'So, Whaddya think?'
He doesn't look at me. "You built this?" he asks sternly, holding his gaze to the machine.
"Yes!" I proudly exclaim!
"...Why?" he asks, barely turning his head to meet me.
"I was always so interested in the M&M's culture and I wanted to be the FIRST person to talk to one!" I cheered.
He absorbs what I said. Drops his arms. Stares me down and says
"That sounds like a huge waste of time." And walks off.
The only time in my acting career I was ever completely baffled. His parents stood behind him laughing. Me, still being in character, bit my tongue so hard to not follow suit. The father patted me on the shoulder as they walked behind their son. I have to admit, I miss working with kids.
