To The Rescue

This short comic is part of a collab with a friend on Instagram! Emikin is their character and they’re currently writing a comic where she gets kidnapped and Shin and Kaito set out to rescue her. This isn’t canon to the Made Not Born timeline as it’s Kai’s story not mine but it does reference canon events so I hope you enjoy the lore crumbs 👀 and if you wanna read the rest of the series check out koimoichi on Instagram!

When the kids are in second year they’re assigned a first year ‘buddy’ for a few weeks to help them with training and general life at UA - Shin is assigned to Emikin (who belongs to @koimoichi), and is excited to show off his skills and make himself look cool to the first years, and then immediately gets his ass kicked. Unfortunately her dragon quirk is almost impossible for Shin to beat, and he’s a pretty sore loser, so they spend most of the duration of the buddy program just brawling it out at every opportunity. Even after the program ends they still meet up to spar semi-regularly and gradually go from actual rivals to sparring buddies to not-quite-friends-but-I-don’t-hate-hanging-out-with-you-I-guess
