since i’ve seen nobody talking about him yet, let’s talk about CURTIS MOTHERFUCKING HOYLE.

this man..... HE........... god i just love him so much. he is so incredible and positive and amazing and badASS. my heart SWELLED when he was in bed with delia. he was happy!!! he was HAPPY and even though he lost delia over helping frank, he was still somewhat happy then too. he called frank out when he was wrong, when he did something that went too far or when something that was uncomfortable for him was happening. vice versa, frank ALWAYS checked on curtis whenever there was physical stuff going on that he knew curt wouldn’t be able to keep up with as well as frank did. i mean, he’s FREAKING GOT ONE LEG??? darkness and pain and suffering could have consumed him. it could’ve taken over him and bought him into a dark place, much like lewis in s1. but it didn’t. and curtis our all his energy into helping others. being positive, smiling, keeping vets off the streets and out of trouble. he’s got ONE LEG???? AND THIS MAN STILL HAS MORE LOVE, CARE AND COMPASSION IN HIM THAN B*LLY R*SSO HAS IN HIS PINKY FINGER.

curtis has such a brave face for the entire season. he unwaveringly helps frank whenever he needs because he is frank’s brother. he cares for frank more than anything in the world, and vice versa. plus— his dynamic with dinah?

Mahoney: And what about Castle?

Madani + Curtis: [together, looking at each other] Who?

the two of them were INCREDIBLE together. the dream frank duo! [plus micro, OBVIOUSLY, who was paid dust this season. acting like he didn’t exist? not on my watch.] they balanced each other out so well. the irrationality from dinah was balanced by curtis’ levelheadedness and curtis’ precautionary actions were vamped in places where necessary by dinah. the two of them are the perfect duo to control frank’s chaotic ass.

curtis is just such an incredible character. he was paid dust in season one, constantly misused, sidelined and mistreated. everywhere you turned, mans was being beaten up, tortured or tied to a bomb. this season they let him come into his own, giving him WAY more screentime and an actual arc to follow alongside frank, rather than just acting as a background character like in s1. he is IMPORTANT. he grounds frank in ways no-one else could.

Amy: He must care about you because you’re the only person I’ve met that’s stood up to Frank and not ended up dead.

does that line not say it all? curtis is a badass. a strong as hell recovering veteran who still continuously helps other recovering vets when he is struggling himself and going through EVERYTHING with the whole being on jigsaw’s hit list. he still puts a smile on his face. he still cracks jokes. he still shares a camaraderie with frank, with dinah, with amy. hell, even with billy sometime. even when billy was dying, he told curtis he didn’t want to die alone, and despite every single thing billy did to curtis, he still considered going to be with billy as he passed.
