If you know your Minnesota history, you know that I-94 was a disaster for BIPOC communities. Racist civic planning at its worst. As the freeway is due for major overhaul, there is a group petitioning for reparations and land back along some of the corridor.

Minnesota mutuals sign this petition to push MNDOT toward reparations in the "Rethink" of I-94.

New fencing dropped in the North Loop on N 5th Ave and I-94. It's too bad, was a fun spot to watch trains. Could see the Light Rail, Northstar Line and freight trains from under this bridge.

Constructing and Reconstructing I-35W 

Travelers on Minneapolis interstates this summer are facing detours. Starting tonight, many of the entrances and exits connecting 35W to downtown will be closed as the Minnesota Department of Transportation enacts its 35W@94:Downtown to Crosstown project. Some of these closures will last until fall, while other ramps will only reopen in 2021.

While we wait for the new and improved 35W, enjoy this look back at 35W since it was first constructed in 1967.
