Since the fence is in, I now have concrete boundaries for my front flower beds, and was able to prep more ground for planting tonight! I’ll be doing the same on the other side of the yard, and eventually turning pretty much the whole yard into garden of some sort. I decided to take advantage of the cool, cloudy weather yesterday and tore up more of my front yard. This used to just be a little triangle of planting over in the far corner where the peonies are. The bush was between them with ornamental grass at either end. I extended the bed toward the walk and up it a bit, then I moved the bush because I’m going to put a crabapple tree in it’s place. I had already gotten some more perennials which I put in the new space, along with some hostas from @janetkayg ‘s yard. Just need to get more wood chips and get the tree in and I’m set! Lots of great things going on in the veg garden after the warm last few days! Beans are coming up, all of the squash seeds are coming up! Flower garden update. Most of my perennials came up, and I added a few in spots where something died. Two of the iris finally have flowers, and hopefully I get more than 1 peony bloom this year, though if I don’t I’m not too surprised since I put those peonies through a lot transplanting them. The pond is looking cute (it’s mostly just a bird bath) and I like the zinnias by it. Garden update! I have all my herbs and veggies in the ground. First bed has herbs, lettuce, carrots, and broccoli, then there’s a few kinds of peas. After that I have tomatoes with their marigold friends. On the other side of tomatoes are squash, then three potatoes plants and some beans. Then there’s a whole bed of beans (seeds planted this morning) with accompanying marigolds, then pumpkins in the last bed, not pictured.
