@ prokrastina While I love paper books and still buy a lot of them (I have an addiction to buying cookbooks and illustrated books), there is something remarkable about having so many books in the palm of your hand. I know we don't have hover cars or robot housemaids, but did the people of the past ever imagine how much human knowledge can now be carried around effortlessly? Plus, I don't know how I would write fanfiction withouth ASOIAF on Kindle, its so easy to find a specific passage through word search. I do mourn the intimacy one gets from pursing another person's bookshelves. Its a bit like an analog tumblr ;)
@weshallflyaway ah, thank you. I am very girly in my tastes. People wonder how my husband can sleep in a pink bedroom. But he does...soundly! Ohh, I love to see your bookshelves!
@ moa-osen thank you! Your little patio garden was so cute! There's something exciting about taking a peek into each others homes.

Most salons won’t offer prices online because they want to jack them up as much as possible. Where do you live, I can recommend a place.

Do not ever go to a student, no matter what the reputation.
I live in Northern New Jersey, but I'm in NYC 2-3 times a week for thesis work and other appointments. I actually find the city a bit more convenient than where I live (I don't drive), though it can be murder on the bank account. Again, I generally would agree with you about not going to students for anything (I saw a dental student for a teeth cleaning on Tuesday - nice, but she hurt my teeth when cleaning them), but this really is a prestigious salon. It's Arrojo in the Village and they have professional hair stylists supervise (and I mean SUPERVISE) during the haircuts. In fact, the former student who cut my hair is now a top stylist. Also, I got some of my best haircuts there. I might post a picture to show you my pixie cut I got from her (I'm growing my hair out).
That being said, I am completely open to suggestions for places in NYC or even northern NJ to go to. I'm not keen on ProHaircutters. I have had one too many bad hair experiences at the one in the town where I live. I don't see what's so hard to understand about the phrase "don't poof up my hair."

"Twentieth Century Box" by Placebo (or "Twentieth Century Boy" by T. Rex) <3
First of all, one of these things actually worked! Cool!
And ok, this is freaky. Because one of the few mangas I've read is Twentieth Century Boys!!! Awesome :D
