I've been sitting on the knowledge that I sort of accidentally predicted a Minecraft feature in a suggestions forum thread for considerably some time. I came up with an idea in mid-2011 that was really quite prescient.
Remember the game was still in Beta then. I wanted to make it possible to mount mob heads from things you killed like a trophy, including ones from skeletons and pigs.
It turns out I kind of got what I wanted in the end. It was just way harder to do, lacked animals, and we didn't get a specialized block plaque.
These are actual images I drew in 2011, long before the actual real update.
The actual block of a monster head was added in Release 1.4. And further into the development history was when you could (rarely) get them in ordinary survival mode. But I think I like my envisioned design more.
