سپریم کورٹ میں موبائل کارڈز پرٹیکس کٹوتی کیس میں چیف جسٹس نے ریمارکس دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ آج کل تو ریڑھی والا بھی موبائل فون استعمال کرتا ہے وہ ٹیکس نیٹ میں کیسے آگیا۔ چیف جسٹس نے ریمارکس دیئے کہ ٹیکس دہندہ اور نادہندہ کے درمیان فرق واضح نہ کرنا امتیازی سلوک ہے اور آئین کے تحت امتیازی پالیسی کو کالعدم قرار دیا جا سکتا ہے۔ کیس کی سماعت کے موقع پر چیئرمین ایف بی آر بھی عدالت میں پیش ہوئے ۔ اس موقع پر جسٹس اعجاز الاحسن نے سوال کیا کہ جو شخص ٹیکس نیٹ میں نہیں آتا اس سے ٹیکس کیسے وصول کیا جا سکتا ہے؟ جس پر چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے بتایا کہ موبائل کالز پر سروسز چارجز کی کٹوتی کمپنیز کا ذاتی عمل ہے۔

چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے بتایا کہ 130 ملین افراد موبائل استعمال کرتے ہیں جبکہ ملک بھر میں ٹیکس دینے والے افراد کی مجموعی تعداد 5 فیصد ہے۔ اس پر چیف جسٹس ثاقب نثار نے استفسار کیا کہ 5 فیصد لوگوں سے ٹیکس لینے کے لیے 130 ملین پر موبائل ٹیکس کیسے لاگو ہو سکتا ہے ؟
