Toussaint is an engineer when it comes to using applications, or APPS, specifically designed for the iPhone. He decides which APP is pertinent to blend images resulting in beautiful amalgams that leave a viewer amazed that a picture was totally processed then printed from an iPhone. Toussaint presentation of his images on a variety of mediums including aluminum, wood, and canvas are breathtaking.
Knox Bronson, a renowned iphonic artist and founder of P1xels—The Art of the iPhone, the only curated iphonic art site on the web recently represented Toussaint’s work, Close The Door at the THE THIRD WAVE, a global exhibition of iPhonic art in Berkley, CA and Bremen, Germany. Toussaint’s Mirror, Mirror was Bronson’s DailyPic on January 4 of which Knox wrote, Paul (Toussaint) brings such a great sensibility to his pictures: a blend of urban, street, country, artistic, camp, pop … and here very artistic and painterly underpinnings in the layering, contrasted with the torn edges and the disparate and bold treatments of the individual eyes—wonderful and a great juxtaposition of energies. I always see a lot of thought, consideration, intent, and experimentation in his pieces….he’s always moving forward and it’s always a joy to see what surprise he has sent in.
